Therapy is doing something about it. It doesn't magically happen on its own. It's a decision (and a hard one, I know from personal experience). But OP, you are an adult, and no one is going to choose it for you other than yourself.

You aren't a young lady. You are an adult. Part of being an adult is recognizing when you have inappropriate feelings and doing something about them. Sorry.

Best thing: You get to shop for new clothes. Worst thing: You get to shop for new clothes.

Whatever would we do without someone starting a new thread on this every five minutes?

Thank goodness. I am now less worried about you and anyone who must share your bathroom. ;-)

Honestly, if you just ate two cups of raisins, I think you have bigger concerns that the calories and carbs ahead of you.

Yeah, if you're sick, you need the fuel. Eat healthy, easy-to-digest foods, but don't worry about counting calories. This is especially important if you're running a fever (you might be, even if you don't feel as though you are).

I've tried it and it doesn't work for me ... I get pretty dang sweaty when I work out, and it takes me too long to cool off! Can't go back to work sweating through my shirt, and sometimes even a quick cold shower doesn't shut off the waterworks.

But... I have had very similar results just by limiting calories and eliminating processed foods. Whole grains are a part of my diet. To each his own, I guess.

It's worth noting that we have been eating grains for centuries and widespread obesity is just recently a problem.

How are you measuring your calorie burn? It's really easy to underestimate. I ask because if you're burning that many calories, you should definitely be hungrier than usual. On the days when I run far enough to burn 500 calories, I am normally ready to eat a horse later in the day. You've got to fuel your body!
-
Agreed! It's not supposed to be easy. It does feel good to exhaust yourself.
-
It's also a lot easier to really run (as in outside) if possible. It's too hard to self-regulate your speed on the treadmill.

I'm doing Couch to 5k! I'm on week three. It's been harder than I expected at times, but the progress that I see has also been incredibly fulfilling. Running itself kind of sucks, but having run is amazing.

One of the most important things a woman can do to have a successful relationship with a man is to occasionally allow him some space all of his own. I know it's hard to understand, even if you don't feel the same way (and some women do!), but the majority of guys need at least a little time alone. If you try to do…

You will have a much easier time of it if you give yourself a break every once in a while. Friday nights are my night: I eat whatever the heck I want; I drink as many beers as I please. I'm very much still on track toward my goal, but it's a heck of a lot easier to behave the rest of the week when I know I can look forward…

Simply put, you are starving, so your body is hoarding what it can. You *do* need fuel for proper operation!
-
You'll also kick your body into starvation mode and wake up one morning twenty pounds heavier, with no clue what happened.
