Are you eating something during your runs? Sounds to me like you're bonking out. I can't do more than 4 miles without bonking. Get some shotblocks, gatorade, slices of fruit or honey to eat every 30 minutes or so. I would also say that even 1500 calories is way below what you need on long run days, so eat up! This is a good…

Love my Under Armor. But the Champion line Target carries is pretty good quality for the price. If you have lots of expendable income Lululemon has awesome quality stuff.

Drink more water. Our bodies mistake thirst for hunger all the time. If you feel hungry drink a glass of water. Still hungry 5-10 minutes later have a small healthy snack (piece of fruit, some almonds, etc).

Water aerobics! I know it seems like an old lady thing to do but it's actually really fun and a great low impact workout.

I can gain 5 pounds in one day... Weight fluctuations are totally normal. Take measurements or pictures and don't live or die by the scale, it is not your friend.
-
Take pictures! My scale hasn't moved since January but boy has my body changed. But I know that without the pictures I wouldn't have realized how much of a change there has been.

The nurse is right. I had a friend who got Rhabdo from jumping back into heavy lifting after an extended break. He was hospitalized for 3 days and very close to needing dialysis. It took him weeks to recover.

I agree with the other posters but would also encourage you to discuss it with your vet the next time they visit; they know your dog personally and can probably give you some good advice. From personal experience I can tell you that my biggest issue with running my pup is his will to please- he loves to run and loves to…

Wobble boards are great. So are the therapy bands, they're flat and stretchy and you can look up different exercises to do with them online. I'd also recommend calf raises, especially on the edge of a stair or something similar, just make sure you're not rolling them out when you go up or you're not going to make any…

Congrats!

Only thing Paxil ever did for my weight was help me gain it. After I stopped taking it (medically supervised) I lost 15 pounds in about 2 months without making any other lifestyle changes. I could not lose the weight on paxil, I tried, I know some people are able to do it. But I gained the weight because of the pills and…

I would say just get on a training plan and try to stick with it. I added about a mile a week and did two other 30 minute runs/elliptical sessions per week. Start raising money for a cause if you need extra motivation or get a friend to do it with you, my sister and I did it together and having a buddy definitely helped.…

Definitely struggling with the stairs and sitting gracefully. Hoping it gets better soon lol.

Congrats! Such a blast. Funny not seeing you, it was such a small group lol.
-
Thanks everyone! It really was an amazing experience. To those of you that are thinking about it, just do it! Totally worth it :)

Only when I want to feel bad about myself lol.

I don't have any personal experience but my older sister had one near her hipbone and after my niece it is still twice it's size even though she's back to pre baby weight. So it didn't shrink back with the rest of her but I think the location and rapid weight gain/loss might be the problem.

Ugh, I do.

Good shampoo and conditioner. They'll cost you but they last longer cause you don;t need to use as much. And invest in a heat protector spray. And get it trimmed regularly, split-ends are the worst.

184 when I was 23. Terrible.

I hear ya! Bought new work clothes in September (switched from a business casual to business office) and absolutely cannot wear the pants to work anymore because I look sloppy, not tailored and professional. While it's nice to be smaller it does get to be expensive when work appropriate pants run me 70-100 a piece. Luckily…

Congrats! Running my first half at the end of April. SO nice to see other "amateur" runners making it through :)

Thanks! It felt great. Good luck with your upcoming exams :)

I come from a family of food pushers. And every family get together involves food. Not necessarily bad food just lots of it. I mean I can say "no" to a bowl of ice cream 3 times in a row before I finally get in and ask for a "tiny bowl" and then I'll be given 4 or 5 huge scoops, not a tiny portion. And then comes the guilt…

Congrats! That is wonderful inspiration to lots of women with PCOS :)

When I do weights I do a 10 minute warmup, 30-40 minutes weights, 30 more minutes of cardio and then 5-10 minutes of stretching. Keeps things interesting and I feel like I really get a solid workout.

I Do. I generally think of my calories in one week chunks not day by day. Sometimes i'm just not that hungry even on days when I work out hard and others I'm hungry all day. Gives me some flexibility and makes maintaining the "lifestyle" a lot easier. The scale says it's working so who am I to argue.

I have what sounds like almost the exact same break. 3 broken bones, 2 plates and 7 screws all told. It's been 4 years for me now. Physical therapy and ultrasound therapy changed my life. I was in constant pain before i went through a couple months of therapy. That being said water aerobics and swimming are great on my…
