  • You could check out the Polar Fit Loop...works like a fitbit and tracks steps & stuff but you can pair it with a Polar Heart Rate Monitor chest strap for when you're doing any kind of "workout"
  • Born & raised Wisconsinite! Currently in the Appleton area. Feel free to friend!
  • Since I'm just starting out....actually do the 5x5 workout 3x/week consistently.
  • Those of you that are going low carb, how low are you keeping your carbs? I've tried atkins and that's just too low and I can't handle it. I need ~some~ bread and/or pasta in my life. I have not looked into HFLC numbers so that's my next research step.
  • Thanks! I think I'll try this next week for my lunches!
  • I buy it in the bulk foods section. It is usually significantly cheaper than buying it prepacked.
  • Feel free to add me if you'd like. I'm struggling right now though!
  • Depends on the person and the effort you put into it. At my weight, I can easily burn 600+ calories in an hour of Zumba. I wear my Heart Rate Monitor to verify it. Someone who weighs half as much as me, would have to put in a whole lot of effort into it to hit 600 calories but I'm sure it could be done. I think it also…
  • 35 and no kids and it doesn't look like there are any on the horizon. I agree that it's hard to find people my age without kids!
  • I had an ultra and I switched to the flex. Love it! Only down side to the Body Media fit is that you have to wear it on your arm and if you're doing stuff outside in the warmer months (I live in Wisconsin) you're going to end up with a weird tan line. And you have to pay $6.95/month to see your data. Fitbit doesn't charge…
  • I just switched to a flex from the ultra after I broke my 2nd ultra and I didn't want to ask my husband's work for a 3rd one. I love the flex so far. I will 2nd the poster who said it's great for walking/running activities but not so great for other stuff. I take a total body fitness class that involves a lot of body…
  • Cellcom race in Green Bay, WI if you're a football fan. You run through Lambeau field right before the finish. It has a 5K, 1/2 & full marathon
  • Do you have some sort of step or bench available during your boot camp? That can make burpees easier. I have bad knees and a fat gut so burpees are hard for me. Doing them on something that gives me more room between me and the floor helps a lot
  • I had a BodyMedia Fit and then my husband's work gave out FitBits to everyone including spouses. I wore my FitBit and BodyMedia Fit simultaneously for a couple weeks and compared data. They were pretty close on all counts..steps, calories burned daily so I switched to just the FitBit and didn't have to pay the $6.95/month…
  • I'll have to look into the Zephyr one. I'm kinda attached to the Polar brand though :)
  • My husband and I have been doing 5Ks this year. He can run and do one in about 30 minutes. I can't run a full one because of my old lady knees. He runs and does his thing and he's waiting for me at the end which is nice. I'd say if it's a timed event, run at your pace and wait at the end. If it's untimed and just for fun…
  • Do a search and you can get a script to add to FireFox web browser that will calculate WWer points based on what you enter into MFP. I found this after I already signed back up for WWers. I have been using MFP for the past year and I haven't lost a pound. which is why I signed back up for WWers. It worked for me in the…
  • My memberships are at Xperience Fitness & Fox River Fitness Boot Camps but I am usually working at 2pm. But I'd be happy to support you otherwise! Once the weather warms up, I'll be walking/biking outside if you are up for that.
  • Thanks for the suggestions. I'm looking to cut back on my cabs in my snacks
  • Beware this kind of attitude...I married a man who's mother didn't make him do a single thing as he was growing up and it is hard to get him to do anything now with out a ton of nagging and b*tching. Granted he has gotten A LOT better over the years but there was a lot of fighting and me going on laundry/cooking strikes to…
  • I tried the Gracious Pantry one and it takes a loooooooooooooooooooong time to melt cottage cheese. I was still trying to melt it after 30 minutes at the stove, got impatient and ended up with gritty sauce because I thought the blender would finish it up. I just buy the low fat version of the Ragu Alfredo sauce.
  • Just a FYI on the visibility of the BodyMedia Fit....I have been wearing just the monitor tucked into the side band of my bra and the data is comparable to when I wear it on my arm. I have done it both ways for workout and non-workout days and the numbers are almost identical.
  • Just be prepared for a shock when going from a HRM to something like a BodyBugg for your calories burned. I do boot camp workouts 3 days/week where I'd burn between 500-700 calories per workout according to my HRM - Polar F6 that I've been using for years. I got a Body MediaFit (similar technology to BodyBugg) and it said…
  • Currently in Appleton but born & raised in SW WI!
  • I think they are essentially the same but now the BodyMediaFit can be linked with MFP but I don't think BodyBugg can. I have had a BMF for a while but stopped using it because I didn't like double trakcing but now that it's linked with MFP, I signed back up again and started wearing it.
  • You can still have an IUD even if you haven't had kids. I don't have kids and it was suggested to me by my GYN and I have a friend who doesn't have any kids and she has an IUD. If your doctor tells you that, you need a new doctor. I think it's just "easier" to put it in if you've had children before.
  • 1980 Chevy Luv....4 speed. Man I loved that little truck!
  • About 3 years ago, I had lost 120 pounds while on BC so I think it's a pretty individual thing. And I was originally put on BC for PCOS and not for actual birth control purposes.
