  • Please know that your value is not based on your looks. You sound like an intelligent, loyal, kind person, and that has EXTREME value. You deserve to be treated with respect, kindness, and dignity. Perhaps your husband is using your weight gain as a way out, in which case, nothing you do will change his mind. If he has…
  • Excellent, Roger!! Good for you, and way to be an inspiration to others!
  • So would you get the same effect adding white kidney/navy beans to your diet? Seems it would be more natural and you wouldn't have to take a supplement...?
  • I wonder about this too. As an overweight person who does not have diabetes or HBP, and has great cholesterol levels, I consider myself to be healthy, just overweight. I do have Hypothyroidism and am an emotional eater, so I eat too much and don't metabolize normally, but I don't eat entire cakes or 17 Big Macs. I know…
  • My sister, who I was very close to, recently lost her battle with Leukemia. Every moment of every day, I miss her. Maybe you should consider repairing your relationship with your sister. Perhaps it would then make the weight loss less of a competition (sibling rivalry at it's finest! ) and it could become something…
  • I love peanut butter and mustard together!
  • LIKE!
  • Feel free to add me! I have a major goal as well. We can do this!
  • Have you had your thyroid checked? I have hypothyroidism and during times when I wasn't on medication, I could eat nothing for days and not lose, I would gain. Maybe a visit to the Dr. is in order? Hang in there, you will get there!
  • Thanks, everyone! I'm 47 and had been overweight for about 15 years, so I'm guessing I'm stuck with it. UGH! It's great that you and your husband are able to joke about it, I would LOVE that! Unfortunately, I'm recently single and now VERY self conscientious about it. Who wants to date a batwinged, floppy thighed, apron…
  • In Oct 2010, I reached my heaviest, 274. From Oct to June, I lost 8 lbs. Then I found MFP and to date, lost another 52 lbs. I have shared this site with others, who log on once or twice and are never seen again. You have to be ready...if you're not, you won't succeed. If you're not ready now, doesn't mean you never will…
  • Thanks everyone for your suggestions! They are so great! Because I have to make the trip in 5 days, I need to keep stopping to a minimum, which means stopping for gas and bathroom breaks. I don't have room in my jam packed car for a cooler, so everything has to be potable. =( I decided to pay attention, today, to what I'm…
  • Not a fan of chili, but I the baked potato is a great idea! It will keep me full too. Thank you! Haha, I'll try not to sleep and drive...I'm getting into some pretty boring areas now. =) That's a good idea...the 10 extra per hour, it sound much more reasonable to me than 100. Thanks!
  • I'm not a big fan of fruit in the yogurt either. I've found Yoplait has a lot of flavors that have no fruit. The fruit flavors DO usually have chunks in them, but the key lime pie, boston cream pie, etc, do not. Unfortunately, you kind of have to buy them to see. Not all 'pie' flavors are chunkless. The apple pie flavor…
  • I hope you love it as much as I do! I started about 2.5 months ago and wonder why I never knew about it before. I have LEARNED so much about food and eating and have so far lost over 25 lbs! Wishing you total success on your weight loss journey...you can do it!!
  • I've read that taking 1200 mg of calcium daily will help fight belly fat. And it's good for our bones, so bonus!
  • Yay for you!!!! I'd have let them fall and then said, Yes! That JUST happened!
  • Good for you!! I was an emotional eater and since joining MFP, I have overcome that issue. It's still a struggle...when I get stressed, my first thought is 'Where are the Little Debbie's?', but I've managed to resist. No more rewarding my accomplishments with food. Jewelry and clothes are much more fun! Again, good for you…
  • Welcome back! I follow the daily sugar intake that MFP provides me. My daily caloric intake is 1300 and I'm allowed 27 grams of sugar daily. I've done pretty well at staying under, although there have been a few times, I've gone over. :)
  • Ok, that makes sense...however, my daily caloric intake right now is 1360. I shouldn't really go too much lower, should I? There have been several days where I have consumed less than 1200 calories and I get the "you're eating too few calories..." message. Also, what is BUMP?? Thanks, everyone, for your help!
  • I'm not an Atkins dieter, but I LOVE their snack bars. Low calorie, low sugar, yummy taste! Makes me feel like I'm having a real candy bar!
  • AWESOME!!! Great work!
  • Girl, if I could give you any of the weight I'm working on losing, you could have as much as you wanted! It's not just a sight for those who want to lose weight, so sure you'll get the support you need here. Best of luck on your journey and feel free to add me, if you'd like.
  • I'm going to try that! I recently started making kale chips and LOVE them! I like them better than potato chips now. Thanks for the Kale cornbread idea!
  • Are we able to create GROUPS on this site? It might be easier for us...?
  • If you're trying to keep the Tuscany colors (which are rich looking), maybe go with a burnished gold rug (if you have children or pets, you may want to go with a darker color, like slate or olive, but it sounds like you have a lot of dark in your room, so the gold will brighten it up and it keeps the 'expensive' look…
  • Thanks everyone for your great responses. My friend had said, 'if you want to eat a cake and it's 1300 calories, as long as you know you won't be able to eat anything else for the day, why should it matter if it has 48g of sugar?' My response was 'I don't want all that sugar!' :) My dr hasn't put me on any program, I'm…
  • Wednesday is my weigh in/measurement day too, so I'll join you! I'm not going to post a pic because no one really wants to see that at this point, LOL
  • Thanks for the info! I'm not on a specific plan (low carb, etc), just on a caloric reduction to lose weight and get back to the good eating habits I had before I became an emotional eater. I am trying to reduce the amount of added sugar I take in, as that was my 'comfort' food, lots and lots of sweets! I've learned not to…
  • Yikes! Good to know, lol. Thank you!
