Does your trainer have a good track record? Did you ask them about their success stories? Do they typically train people of your age/experience/gender? I too am a CFT and group instructor. Personally I like to keep it around 24 total working sets, but other than that it looks solid albeit slightly advanced.

It's not against the law to dis-like vegetables. As long as you're reaching your goals and are happy......

Not saying diet soda is a perfect choice, but there are tons of " false-hoods" going around in regard to artificial sweeteners http://www.snopes.com/medical/toxins/aspartame.asp

Hell ya :-) Low impact & high intensity

6 or 7 for me now, but in all honesty I was in great shape a few yeas back with a spot-on diet doing only strength training 25-30 minutes 3x a week... Takes discipline, but it's there if you want it.

Ya, everything in moderation... pass the chocolate

I have an ft7 & garmin 305, the wife has the ft4 - in all honesty the ft4 does everything that I would have needed it for - the gamin is good for the bike as it has a GPS and cadence sensors

Alcohol is really bad for your program, it dehydrates you and adds tons of useless calories. Do what you want, but know that your success will be hindered directly by the brew. Try to limit your consumption to a couple days a month....

Turkey Drumstick, no skin ?

Same thing with your HRM , body fat tables, etc..... I have a friend that is fairly lean who just had a v02 max test - he was 500 cals a day below what "the tables" were telling him to eat. When he added a meal he instantly started reaching his goals. I guess it's trial and error or some real tests

Ya? So a 305 lb college linebacker has the same caloric requirement as a 98 lb office worker? No.... Your minimum caloric requirement is based on your weight, activity level, age and lean mass. I wish people would stop the mis-information

I was Sports Authority yesterday and saw a bunch of older Polar models on clearance, some as low as $35

Thanks for your service

Day off? Hell no, suck it up and get'er done... Well, maybe just this once ;-) In all reality I was on a program where I was only strength training 20 minutes 3x a week and stayed in great shape by controlling my intake... so, ya, don't sweat it

Before the site existed there were those of us that logged our food in a spreadsheet, before that on paper... after this is gone there will be another or, at the very least, more paper. It's all about being accountable, the venue is a matter of convenience.

An HRM would give you a better idea, but I would think that walking at a brisk pace for 2.5 hours would be closer to 700 calories than 300......

If you're using it as a crutch to get the laxative effect then, yes, it's a problem. If you are just going over the RDA eating normally then don't sweat it.

1 word - accountability I have found over the years that the best way , for me, is to log everything I put in my mouth.

I wouldn't call it strength training as what you describe is generally an aerobic move where you are converting stored energy via the aerobic pathways. Strength training generally involves utilizing energy stored in the cells (ATP) for power..

I've been on a sesame ginger kick lately using Newmans low fat sesame ginger salad dressing.... I like to buy in bulk portion out the meat in bags, add marinade and freeze. When you thaw the meat it is marinated and ready to go :-)

Taste is way too subjective for me render a worthwhile opinion.... With that caveat == Do you like chocolate? My current favorite is - 2 servings (about 80 gms) of any chocolate 100 whey isolate protein powder 1000 grams of non-fat, plain yogurt 1 box of Sugar Free / Fat Free chocolate fudge pudding mix a tablespoon or two…

I usually have some sort of salad with meat and dressing on the side when I go out, if I am at an event then I either go all-out or, as you stated, go with the salad and take it easy (don't eat the good (bad) stuff)

Two totally different experiences, I have a BB for work and it's great for email, but the app selection is meh... The wife has an iPhone and it rocks for everything else. What about android? The Samsung Galaxy S II is nothing short of amazing.

Sounds like you found the sweet spot, congrats

Depends on which Android phone you get .. some of them are less friendly than others, I prefer HTCs overlay on Android 2.2, but others like motoblur better.... I really believe that if you're not a heavy/expert user and you just want something that works well most of the time get the iPhone Regardless I would wait a bit as…
