  • @JulieSHelms - you look fantastic! Congratulations, all your hard work is paying off.
  • Picture on the left is Thanksgiving 2015. Picture on the right is this year with me fitting size 4!! Last year I knew I was overweight but still in denial. This photo made me realize I could no longer hide just how out of control I was, and I needed to get my act together. I'm 5' 7" and 51 yrs old. And I feel like a kid…
  • Rocking a new size-- a six!! Was at least a size 20 when I started my journey in January. So many things to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.
  • NSV=Non Scale Victory... It's nice to not always focus on the number on the scale, but rather the other kinds of success we see.
  • To run a 10 min mile. I'm currently able to consistently run 11:30-12 min/mile with sprints of 8-9min/mile speeds. Ultimately, I'd love to run a 10k in the spring.
  • Took a Zumba class for the first time in a year. It was so much easier to keep up now and had a lot of fun.
  • I hit Lifetime Membership in Weight Watchers today... I should say I returned to it since I had originally hit that milestone 27 years ago but never stayed at that weight!! So excited to be 96.6 lbs down and 3.4 lbs away from achieving my 100 lb weight loss.
  • So excited to be wearing for the first time in my life: 1) a sweater dress 2) tights 3) a dress above the knee Yay!! 94.6 lbs down and shopping isn't such a drag anymore.
  • I did it! Ran the 5k this morning in 37:44. Was really happy to have run most of it under 12min/mi pace but the last .5 was all uphill, and I slowed down. Still very happy with 12:09/mi average as it's still faster than anything else I've recorded. It was 40 degrees and slightly raining and it still felt fantastic.
  • Well it's been an incredible week: 1. I lost 4.6 lbs this week, hit the "normal" BMI category and now have a total loss of 92.4 lbs this year!! 2. I ran my first 5k race this morning and did it in 37:44 min for an average of 12:09/mile. I'm still working on the next 7.6 pounds to reach the 100 lb goal. It will be soon, I…
  • Thank you too! I will definitely make note of what works and what temp it was. I just walked an hour in the rain this morning, and it was fun because what I was wearing kept me warm and dry. Let's hope whatever I wear tomorrow keeps me comfortable and I can have a fun run.
  • I've had a Twix bar in my desk for over a month and have not longer have a strong desire to eat it. I originally bought it thinking I'd have it there if I needed to celebrate something or wanted a quick fix. Been realizing lately that 1) I don't need to celebrate with food... or at least not with candy, and 2) a quick fix…
  • Thanks Jen! That makes perfect sense and I will take that into consideration when I wake up on Saturday and see what the temp is out there.
  • Thanks for the advice -- I did just find both a headband and a wool cap with fleece lining so one or both will help keeping my ears warm on those frosty days. The forecast for Saturday keeps changing from rain, to just cloudy and now I'm hearing the temps may be higher 50s. It's going to be fun being out there. Love the…
  • Any suggestions on what to wear when the forecast is for high 40s-low 50s?
  • So excited-- 92.4 lbs lost so far this year!!
  • Well -- i can't believe it but I lost 4.6 pounds this week. So that means I hit the goal and I'm now in the normal BMI range for the first time in 27 years. And to celebrate, yesterday I bought two pairs of tights and am now looking for that cute dress or skirt to wear with them. Next goals: 1) Lose 7.6 more pounds and I…
  • My NSVs are tied to my SV. 1) Lost 4.6 lbs this week and that puts me in the "normal range" BMI for the first time in 27 years!! 2) I ran 4 miles yesterday with a 12.5min/mile average. Not bad for a beginner. Can't wait to run in my first local 5k on Saturday. I've now lost 92.4 pounds this year and 3) Yesterday I…
  • Signed up for a 5K! Can't believe I'm doing a race...and by myself since I don't have any friends who want to run. But it's not going to stop me. I'm actually looking forward to it and then it's on to a 10k.
  • Can't wait to break into the 150's range--Haven't been there in nearly 30 years. It will also put me in the normal BMI range. Just realized that I can probably wear tights again too. I gave up trying to find ones that would fit when I was heavier, but at this point, I look forward to shopping for some and maybe having the…
  • I ran...outside for an hour...in a sleeveless running top. Would never have had the courage before now.
  • Wow!! They're awesome. Can't believe I didn't know about them before now. I just checked out a couple of videos and they're clear, easy to follow and will definitely be added to my daily routine. Thank you!!
  • Ran five miles this morning outdoors in an hour. It was so exhilarating! I may become a runner yet. I absolutely hate the treadmill, but Mother Nature's gym is awesome. :-)
  • All you need to do is click on their name and a small dialog box will pop up. Then click their name again, which will bring you to their profile. From that page, there is a button to send them a friend request.
  • Quoting myself here. Hit three of my goals!! 1) I lost 1.8 lbs this week so I have lost 85.6 lbs 2) I got into my size 8 jeans (barely but they were zipped all the way up so so it counts!) 3) I ran 5k on the treadmill with a pace of 12min/mile My next goal - getting to 90 lbs lost Still wishing everyone success with…
  • I was able to squeeze into a pair of size 8 boot cut jeans from The Gap this morning! Still can't believe it but so excited. I once wore size 18 jeans (before they became too tight). Looking forward to when I can pull up the size 8's with ease as opposed to the acrobatics required this morning.
  • Ironically.... Chris Stapleton's "What are you listening to?"!
  • Very excited to report I was able to jog 3.6 miles in 45 minutes this morning without stopping. As a beginner, an approximate 12min mile was pretty good in my book. Best part was that I wasn't winded and could have gone farther but had to get ready for work. Lots of room for improvement, but it felt great to be moving --…
  • 1. When I lose 1.2 lbs, I'll reach my 85 lb loss milestone. 2. When I lose 5 lbs, I'll hit the "normal" BMI category. 3. Getting into a single digit size like an 8. I'm a 10 right now so I'm close. 4. Running a 5k race. I was able to jog 3.6 miles this morning without stopping so now it's just a matter of improving my…
