  • Hi I am just under 5 foot 3 inches and currently weigh 190 lbs, and I am starting my weight loss journey today. I would initially like to lose just over 2 stone to weigh 11 stone and then, dependent upon how I feel I look, will reassess my target weight, I would like to lose weight before a holiday I go in in just over 5…
  • I am using TDEE cut of 1750 calories daily including exercise. I then log my exercise of 300 calories (because I want to keep track) I do not eat those calories back though do I? Even though my net calories is then only around 1450 calories? xx
  • 'I have managed to lose a little weight' from your tracker you have done amazingly well so let's just stop worrying about sugar because, as 'EdDavenport' proves sugar does not need to be tracked! Congrats Ed Davenport on your loss and everyone else too! Remember weight loss is not a race but a journey that we are all on…
  • Hi guys, I am now trying to EMTWL but I am struggling with TDEE and exercise calories. I have just worked out how many calories I need to lose weight according to my TDEE on the following website: http://www.healthyweightforum.org/eng/calculators/calories-required/ The details I entered were: Gender: Female Weight: 175 lbs…
  • I understand what you are saying it's just that I have read that you don't need to eat back calories if your TDEE includes the level of exercise. Sorry if I have got this wrong x
  • [/quote] If you followed Helloitsdan's instructions on the Roadmap and took a 20% cut from you TDEE including exercise then you do NOT eat your exercise calories back as they are already factored in. If you are using the MFP calculator to get your numbers then you DO eat your exercise since MFB does not include it in your…
  • I understand what you are saying and I do do all of those things but I am just worried that I am doing myself harm due to all the scaremongering you read on this site e.g. eat your BMR, net your BMR, eat 20% less than TDEE.
  • Yes. According to the site I have used my TDEE currently (maintenance) is 2331 calories. I have a goal of losing 1 kg in 2 weeks. The activity level I chose on the site is moderate which is described as: some operational walking rather than just sedentary work, plus a little vigourous additional exercise e.g. dancing or…
  • I probably am making it much harder than it needs to be I just don't understand so I am sorry x
  • O I always thought that when you calculated your TDEE with activity level included you didn't need to eat back your exercise calories as they were already included in the deficit? Or have I got this wrong? Sorry but I am new to this and am still finding it confusing x
  • So the 1779 is what I should be eating in order to meet my 2 week goal of losing 1kg. So if I ate 1779 calories but also went to the gym and burnt 400 calories would I need to eat the 400 calories back or not? As the exercise deficit is already included? x
  • Thank you so I have worked out that my BMR is roughly 1600 and after entering the information on the site above it came back with the calorie requirements above so has the website already done these calculations for me? x
  • This is what I thought was my maintenance level so thank you for clarifying that :) Now does the 1700ish calories already include the exercise calories as I input my activity level? So do I eat the calories (300-400 per workout 4/5 days a week) back or not? This is where I become confused as I don't think I should eat them…
  • I think the website I used did this well that was the information I had to input and it mentioned activity level
  • Anyone? x
  • Hello AnvilHead, I believe I have already done this above haven't I? Sorry if I haven't but it looks similar to what helloitsdan's post.
  • Please tell me if I have got it wrong as I am really trying to understand x
  • I have just worked out how many calories I need to lose weight according to my TDEE on the following website: http://www.healthyweightforum.org/eng/calculators/calories-required/ The details I entered were: Gender: Female Weight: 175 lbs Height: 161 cm Activity Level: Moderate (I work out 4/5 times a week for about 30 - 40…
  • it is accurate according to the machines at the gym (which I know are not the most accurate). Sorry what do you mean lose? And would I eat 1840 or net 1840? I have heard so many different things such as net your bmr, eat your bmr, eat 1200, net 1200 that my head is all over the place. Many thanks for all your help
  • Thank you for your comment so how many calories should I be netting per day in your opinion? x
  • In general I eat at my BMR on non workout days but on workout days I usually net around 1200 as I am simply not hungry to eat back those 400 calories burnt but by not eating them back I am netting below my BMR. What is TDEE? Could someone help me do some calculations to work out how many calories I should be eating?…
  • But my TDEE without exercise is 1935 so how many calories should I be netting as a 400 calorie deficit from my TDEE (to compensate exercise) would mean I was still netting below BMR? So confused by all of this at the moment lol x
  • My original calorie goal is 1570 (including the 500 calories deducted by MFP) x
  • I know it doesn't help that I am such an extremely fussy eater which makes my snacks very limited so the more suggestions that I get would be appreciated :) x
  • I am hoping to increase my protein and reduce my carbs so if anyone has any low carb, high protein meal ideas I would be appreciative :) I love fajitas and that seems to be a low (ish) carb, high protein meal but I cannot live without ketchup so that is something I could not cut out of carbs haha! x
  • It's great jus to see what everyone else thinks about your diet as there will always be room for improvement somewhere :) And omg I'm so glad I don't know how to make them as I would be eating them all day! x
  • Thank you I will definitely bare that in mind for the future however, I do LOVE my frosties haha x
  • I do quite well with my macros most of the time but would like to reduce the amount of carbs but am unsure of what foods high in calorie and low in carbs I could eat instead? x
  • Are the machines at the gyms good for toning/maintaining muscle mass though as I have read on here that some of the machines are not all that beneficial? Also this may sound silly but how are you meant to pull your abdominal muscles in as I think I do not do this correctly (I feel like I am just breathing in a lot more…

  • I net around 1200 - 1500 on exercise days which is usually 5 times a week. I usually burn around 400 calories when I go to the gym, so on exercise days I EAT anywhere between 1600 and 1900 calories. On non-exercise days I eat anywhere between 1300 and 1500 calories, however this number can be increasingly higher on a…
