What if you tried simply topping it all with some fruit? Blueberries or strawberries or whatever tastes yummy. If you really wanted to feel like you're indulging, you could always mix some splenda in with frozen fruit (I prefer blueberries) and thaw it in the microwave, then you'd have kind of a fruity-flavored syrup-like…

Haha! Yay! At least I'm not the only one.

I used to love my coffee with creamer, but the regular stuff had waaaay too many cals and the diet stuff tasted like crap. So I've started drinking it plain, but every so often I like to dump in a single packet of diet swiss miss. It's only 25 cals and tastes amazing! I would doubt there's any nutrional value, but then…

Welllllll... Let me start by saying that my son is only three, so I haven't been there or done that yet, so I'm only speaking from that weird place in my mind where opinions come from. What I would think you should do with him for the time being is simply make changes. Don't put him on a "diet." Don't make him "exercise."…

:noway: 40-50 miles?! Craziness! I can't imagine that. Way to go you! That's great about your jeans. I bought two pairs of jeans only two weeks ago, in two different sizes because I was kind of between sizes at the time. Now, the bigger pair I bought is uncomfortably big on me and the smaller pair is perfect. It's an…

This is just my opinion, but I would start off as high as you possibly can. If you lose weight on 1500 then definitely start there, because with that much weight to lose you'll need room to lower your intake later during plateaus. I personally started out at a solid 2000, now five months later I've worked down to 1400.

I personally don't think that's too much at all. So long as you know you are following a healthy diet plan and are getting everything you need, I say that's fantastic. I, too, lost most of my weight very rapidly. Everyone assumes you're doing something very wrong because not many people can lose that fast, but the truth…

That's wonderful! Congrats

That was precisely my point, actually... I'm still not seeing how that wasn't clear.

The exercises are a bit repetative, but there are many levels to work through, so you can always bump up your workouts if you feel you're getting too used to the routine. My biggest complaint are the lunges and squats-- for some reason those are used in most every single routine and it's way overkill, but that could just…

Ugh. I have no idea whether a potato is bad for you or not. If it IS bad for you, I have no idea why, because all the arguments seem to conflict. All I know is I love potatoes. So I stay away as often as possible. Whether they're bad for me or not, I would be willing to bet half of my obesity was brought on solely by some…

Wonderful article! Thanks so much for sharing :flowerforyou:

Psh. I log EVERY loss... no matter the circumstances. I'm greedy like that. hehehe Log it. You'll be fine.

Actually it IS quite a difference. You look wonderful!

About time.

I had surgery back in December, was very sedentary for two weeks and was unable to exercise for a good three weeks, but didn't gain a pound. Keep your focus on your calorie goal and eating healthy foods. Whatever you do keep yourself from eating out of boredom. You might not lose a whole lot of weight, but anything's…

Simply amazing! What a drastic change. And still going strong! Congrats :drinker:
-
I made my doctor cry. She was pretty proud.
-
So so so so true. Excellent post!
-
Yea... but EVERYTHING'S bad for you anymore. I think our society's getting a little too obsessed with perfection.
-
The person above me has changed her body drastically in the last several years and is still going strong! You're like a whole new person, oregonlady! Very inspirational!
-
Leave it set to light... consider the extra cals you burn on those particular days a bonus.
-
Sounds simple and yummy- the perfect combo! I'll have to try it out.
-
You just enter it as your own exercise, then it'll add it to your list and each time you'll have to adjust the time and calorie info.
-
That's awesome! Congrats! And though exercise is an important factor in weight loss... you've got time. Start out slow and it'll give you plenty of room to work your way up as you lose weight and your body begins to demand more to lose more.
-
That is an awesome achievement! Way to go!!!!! And I think it sounds wonderful. It's definitely something I look forward to. You're right- obese is one of the ugliest words in the english language, and makes you feel horrible about yourself. At least your doctor tells you... the first time I ever realized I was obese was…

Mine's coming out, too. It's one of the unfortunate side effects of weight loss. :ohwell:

Unlike you, I've always disliked yoga though I'd never tried it. hehe However, recently, I've been trying it out, and I must say, though I'm not a huge fan, I do somewhat enjoy it. I don't find it relaxing or satisfying for the moment, but I notice the day after that my muscles are nice and tender, which means it must be…

Oh, honey, we've all been there. Don't feel too disappointed in yourself. The important thing is that you've decided to get back on track, and so long as you keep your goals in mind, you will succeed- even if you treat yourself every now and again. Today's a new day: make it count! GL

I walk four miles in the mornings (when we're not in the middle of a blizzard! :grumble: ) and then I spend an hour six or seven nights per week exercising. I have to wait till my son goes to bed so I'm not usually done till 9:30 or so. I've asked my dietician about rest days and she doesn't really think they're too…
