Nail on the head! Exactly! Thanks for all the kind words y'all... can't wait to hear about all the new experiences with paleo! :)

It's a lifestyle change. And I'm happy with it because it's totally worth it to feel as good as I do. That being said, I occasionally cheat - usually for holidays. Eating out isn't that hard. You can always get a salad with meat, a burger with no but, double side of veggies with no starch or grain. It does open your eyes…

I was a vegetarian for 10 years, myself. It's amazing how this diet points out to you, very quickly, how unhealthy of a lifestyle it is. Yes, you get carbs from vegetables, and especially fruit. You don't have to worry about substituting anything for grains because without them in your diet, you don't crave as much. You…

Not sure why the pic isn't working anymore... but here it is again: May 2012 on the left - January 2013 on the right:

I'm not a big breakfast person - but I always have coffee. If I'm not super hungry in the morning I will usually only eat a banana and graze on nuts until lunchtime. If I do want a satisfying breakfast I will make eggs with whatever vegetables I have in the house (onions, zucchini, peppers all work well) and some Applegate…

Grains cause health problems without you knowing. They cause insulin spikes and inflammation, which doesn't usually manifest itself as a problem right away, but after many years takes a toll on your body. There is a school of thought that human disease coincides with the rise of agriculture and farming...…

I encourage everyone who's considering to give it a shot - even just for a month. And kudos to everyone who is doing it!! lol @paulywoo - they are a very good (and adorable) support team! @dreamerlove and Happyme2009 - I would say in the beginning try to be as strict as you can for the full benefit and results. I still…

Thanks Maidofmer!

@DestroyTheOpp Yup, it's very similar. The biggest part is cutting out grains - CORN, WHEAT and SOY. That's right - even whole wheat is bad!! Pasta, bread, cereal, rice, etc. - We have waaaaaay too much of it in our diet. And our bodies require 0 of it. Cut that stuff out and stick to MEAT (grass-fed, not corn-fed),…

Look at your progress and remember how good it feels! Remember that good feeling when you saw the scale drop or your pants fit better or just feeling better in your own skin... There are two ways to live you're life: 1. Eating food that makes your body feel great and enjoying feeling really healthy or 2. Eating food that's…

I'm sorry MillyVanilli Cookie Monster! It's no longer letting me edit the title - otherwise I would change it! If it makes you feel any better, you'd probably see the same thing if you saw me at the beach :) sritt004 - I'm 5' 7" and 26 years old. I was naturally pretty thin from my teenage years to early 20s, but in my…

*Bump* - 6 months Starting weight: 160 Current weight: 146 The Paleo Diet has made a HUGE difference. Half of my weight loss has been in the last 2 weeks when I started - that's right - 9lbs in 2 weeks.
-
Thanks guys - I highly recommend pics to anyone doing this. The first few months I lost NOTHING (according to the scale) and it nearly killed my motivation completely. Seeing the difference helped get my motivation back on track 100%.
-
Thanks guys, gotta start adding my weight training!
-
This was my problem for so long. I wasn't eating enough.. Now I'm focusing on eating more and reaching my calorie goal and I already lost 2lbs.
-
I think you guys are completely right about the wine. I haven't been drinking at all this week! No booze! Just coffee and water :) missigus - we're right on the same page... I bought some Luna bars for this week just to fill in the gaps!
-
Hey missigus! Thanks.. he's my friend's horse, he's a lot of fun! I love dressage, great way to learn to have a good seat for riding. I do log my riding as exercise. Although it's a heck of a lot more fun than the elliptical machine, I'm still all sweaty after... so I must be doing some exercise! I like your suggestion…
-
Trying to eat more! Logged the last three days.. trying to eat incredibly well.
-
I love riding... I was just at the barn this evening! :)
-
Ok, I just made my dairy public. But I haven't logged anything in over 6 mos. I'll start logging again and see if you guys can see a problem.
-
Yes, that is breakfast, lunch and dinner. Maybe I'm not eating enough...?
