Same here...near the deli section, over by the gourmet cheeses. Their own brand, "Marketside", is actually pretty good. My favorite is the Sabra Greek Olive. Yum!

Wow! That is an amazing price! I paid more than that for my FT60 alone. I love the built-in "personal trainer". It's incredible how gaining, then keeping that little trophy inspires you to keep working out. Great HRM. You'll love it!

Try steel cut oats. Add a spoon of greek yogurt and some chopped nuts for protein and a bit of fat. This usually holds me over for about 3 hours. Coach's Oats cooks in 5 mins and tastes great.

Daily supplements I take: - Multivitamin - Mega-Red Omega-3 Krill Oil I can't stand fish for some reason, but I really want the nutritional benefits of Omega-3, so I take Mega-Red. There's no aftertaste, stomach issues, "fish burps", mercury content, etc. The softgels are small and not at all fishy smelling or fishy…

Thanks for the great info!

Here is the abstract (re-formatted by me for clarity): "The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of Aerobic Training (AT), Resistance Training (RT) and the full combination (AT/RT) on central ectopic fat, liver enzymes and fasting insulin resistance (HOMA). In a randomized trial, 249 subjects, 18 to 70 years…

Grokette said: "And they contain soy!!" Care to elaborate?

I love bread. I used to bake my own. It was hard to leave bread behind. The only bread I eat now is Arnold Multigrain Sandwich Thins. They are wonderful, very tasty, healthy, just the right size for a 300-350 cal sandwich, and only 110 cals for each "bun". And, although not technically a bread, I also eat Wasa Multigrain…

For anyone else considering a Polar HRM... I have the FT60 and love it. If you are seriously committed to fitness, this is an HRM that can take care of it all AND has options to grow into more serious functions if you wish. It's one of only 2 Polar models (the other is the FT80) that have a kind of "personal trainer" built…

Fantastic! Thank you all for the amazing inspiration.

Add some protein powder and you would be good to go for a while.

I agree with Stephski07. If you're craving a cheeseburger, have it! Just don't double-down, be sure to log it in your diary, and try to remain on course with you daily goals. A regular McDonald's cheeseburger has: Cals: 300 Fat: 12 grams Protein: 15 grams

Yes to W0zzie's comments. I'd also like to add: - Prior to using, make sure you soak the strap contacts (the 2 gray mesh areas) well with water. I place them under the running faucet. - If you keep losing the signal, check to make sure your strap is very snug. - I rinse the strap in very warm water after every workout,…

I have the Tanita Innerscan Body Composition Scale BC533. It's very accurate weight-wise and gives you several metrics to track. It also has 4 user settings. I'm extremely pleased with it: http://www.amazon.com/Tanita-BC533-Innerscan-Composition-Monitor/dp/B0007Y6BS4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1313818528&sr=8-1 When I ordered…

Another vote for Kashi Go Lean. Kashi Go Lean (1 cup) and 1 cup 1% milk = Cals - 287 Protein - 25 grams Fiber - 13 grams Total - 38 grams Add 1/8 cup sliced almonds and you have: Cals - 372 Protein - 28 grams Fiber - 15 grams Total - 43 grams

Funny you should mention that. I bought this "Chore Chart" at Target when I started about 2 months ago. Along the side, instead of chores, you can list, like you said, whatever you choose. I have "Diet", "Cardio", "Strength", "Vitamin", etc. Along the top are listed the days of the week, Sun - Sat. It also comes with about…

I love Subways. They are a great healthy fast food choice. For example, I usually get the 6" Subway Club on Whole Wheat, with provolone, veg, and oil and vinegar. It comes to under 300 cals, 10 grams of fat, and 23 grams of protein. Here are some tips: - They will make any sandwich into a salad. This is what I normally do.…

I feel your pain! I've weighed myself every Monday morning since I started this diet (June 6, 2011). Sometimes I was dying to hop on and take a quick peek, but I restrained myself. Better to be pleasantly surprised once a week than suffer the ups and downs of daily weigh-ins. It's especially hard now since I've been away…

That sounds like it would work. I also use a similar powder. It's Genisoy Soy Protein Powder, unflavored, made from non-GMO soy, no carbs, no sugars, 25 grams of protein per serving. The unflavored variety is the most versatile, I think. I usually add 1 banana, 1 cup of frozen blueberries, the powder, milk, splenda, and a…

I don't know if this will help, but I used to have the same problem. But since I've changed my eating habits, it seems to have resolved itself. I used to eat a LOT of bread, pasta, rice, potatoes...I loved anything starchy. When I started my diet (in early June 2011), I completely cut out all bread, pasta, rice, and…

You're not giving your body much to work with when you eat unhealthy foods. It needs the micronutrients, vitamins, minerals, protein and fiber found in healthy foods to provide fuel, repair cells, etc. In addition, you'll probably feel pretty lethargic and lack energy on a diet of 1200 calories worth of burgers and fries.…

I use Genisoy Soy Protein Powder, unflavored. Dissolves nicely, very neutral taste, not chalky. A 1 pound can costs about $12 - $15. I like the unflavored, it's easy to add any flavoring you like. Or add the powder to any recipe. Per 3 heaping tablespoons, it contains: Calories: 110 Protein: 25 grams Carbs: 0 grams Fat:…

I would consider it an excellent clean choice. There are 8 gr of protein, 6 gr of fiber, and only 3 gr of fat per each 2 waffle serving. Also, they are made with whole wheat flour and 7 whole grain flour. The nutritional profile is actually very good. One thing I did notice in checking out the ingredients. For those who…

Excellent! Print that out and hang it all over your house. Make it the wallpaper for your phone/mobile device. Every time you have a craving, look at those quotes. One more thing...what helped me (along with Nicoderm patches), was working out hard. Three of my friends and I would play racquetball every day for about 2-3…

I love Kashi Go Lean. It has the best nutritional profile of any cereal I've seen. And I personally love the taste. I also love steel cut oatmeal with pecans, dried cranberries, cinnamon, splenda, and frozen blueberries added about 5 mins before I eat it.

Great! Thank you!

+1 What Ranger Steve said. If you have the money to burn, drink the kool-aid....errrrrr....Shakeology.

I quit several years ago using Nicoderm patches. They really helped with the cravings. So much so that I didn't even finish the entire supply of patches. Maybe the e-cigs would help when used in combination with something like the Nicoderm patches.

Goodness....yet another shake-based scheme. I can only imagine how much this one costs. Don't fall for the protein powder hype. Do yourself and your pocketbook a favor and buy some unflavored protein powder. I happen to like Genisoy Soy Protein Powder (110 cals/25 grams protein/0 carbs/1.5 grams fat). Put into any liquid,…
