or you could weigh your clothes and deduct from the gym scales result.

I focus on what I can do and feel like compared with 'yesterday' and what I will be like tomorrow. For example: * I have lost the weight I wanted to * I can run a 5K * I feel good getting into my old clothes and need to even get some smaller ones * My daughter is happy I do not smoke anymore and it has been over a year now…

I like the Walmart review that reads:

The most important thing is you enjoy your meal. Don't get too wound up in the calories, it's not like you eat here every day. You have some good suggestions above, worry and you won't have a good time. You could also do a 10K run before going. ;-)

I'm 40 and have lost just over a stone in 7 weeks (15lb to be exact). I can't say it is harder as I never needed to lose weight in my younger years. As it is I am not finding it difficult, in fact I am losing weight quicker than I had planned. I am running now and some strength training so I would have put on some muscle…

It has to be deadmau5 when I am running. Always start my run with "So There I Was" from the album "Random Album Title".

I do in an OCD way. :embarassed: I have a small scale and everything fresh or part of whole is weighed. I understand with a family it won't be as easy but I cook and eat for just myself. :frown:

That makes it even more awesomer (I know it's not a real word but it should be)! My lifestyle has changed as well, it is for the better as well in the long term. Keep running.

Awesome, congratulations. How do you feel?

If someone told me a year ago I would be running on a regular basis in a years time i would half laughed at them. I didn't do c25k but I did it all on my own. I started slowly with long walks, fast walks, combinations (run 100 yards, walk 200). The fitness builds up and you start running. You then get addicted and want to…

I am/was in the same boat. I could eat anything and everything and not worry about my weight. From about 35 onwards I noticed that this was no longer the case. No more pies and no more pizza :( I lost 12lb at the end of last year but my eating habits were back to their old ways soon after. Curse you Häagen-Dazs and your…

Tuffjourney, it would depend what side of the pond you are. Nacho's would be a better option.

There is a database entry for UK Fish and Chip Shop - Chips. 1 Regular portion: Calories 655 Total Fat 38 g Total Carbs 45 g Dietary Fiber 5 g Sugars 14 g Protein 8 g You can then add the cheese. 100g of cheddar would be about: Calories 403 Total Fat 33 g Saturated 21 g Polyunsaturated 1 g Monounsaturated 9 g Sodium 621 mg…

I have the Polar FT7. Simple to use and accurate. The only down is some people say the audible warning tones are quiet but if they were louder I think they would be annoying.

According to mine I died a quarter of a mile into my first run with it. It turns out I was ok, just running up a hill 'quickly'.

I used the nicotine replacement gum when I quit. I was toying with the idea of giving up then one day I spoke with an ex-smoker who made me decide that day to give up. I was in the process of reducing my calorie and sugar intake at the time so I thought I would go the whole way and lose weight as well. I don't recall it…

I never liked running when I was younger but I can run a 5K now (but not fast, yet) which is 4 weeks since I started running. I started with a 1 mile route near where I live, if you can try this on the flat and not hills like I did all the better. My first 'run' was more of a 200 yard jog, 200 yard walk, 200 yard jog, etc.…

Mine was one of the women in my team saying my tits were big. The last time I checked I was male.

I watched a BBC program on YouTube called "How to be slim" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSm1dWjMGeM& There were two women within the program, one who could eat anything and stay thin, the other was overweight. The thinner person thought she had a faster metabolism but it turned out the larger woman had the faster…

How about lifestyle correction or direction change?

I personally don't like coke or soda. Give me a glass or water instead any day. I hardly touch alcohol much these days either. From what I have heard about diet coke I would avoid as much as possible if trying to lose weight.

I just feed my chocolate fix with a dark chocolate, 85-90% cocoa. Lidnt or Green and Black's. At that strength I don't eat much, 20g will easily subdue the need to want more. I do have a 100% cocoa and I have the smallest piece of that at any one time. A lot of people find it too bitter, I like to taste the cocoa myself.
