It all looks pretty calorific, not even a salad dish

  • You could always eat only half and save the rest for tomorrow or just don't take it home. Although you might be able to get the Pollo Diavola Rivisto and ask for it grilled or baked instead of fried.
  • Spiedino di mare

Chargrilled skewers of monkfish and king prawns chargrilled drizzled with chefs special lemon and olive oil dressing. Served with rocket and cherry tomatoes
    £16.90

    Pesce Spada al salmariglio

Chargrilled swordfish steak with salmarilio sauce - garlic, lemon, olive oil and parsley served with mixed leaves
    £16.40

Either one of those look like "inoffensive" options being that they are not covered in a cream sauce, and come with a side of vegetables, so you're not running into a giant plate of pasta...

Choose anything that is not breaded, fried or has a butter sauce. Fish is better then meat. Skip the antipasti. Any of the side dishes except for the potaotes.
If you get the pasta bring 1/2 home.

I'm a huge Lasagna and fish fan.

Lasagna, Pesce Spada al salmariglio, or Rotolino di Spigola looks great to me.

I always ask to have sauce on the side, if it's possible, so I have better control

Oh, this one looks great too
  • The grilled swordfish would be good, or this steak Filetto al Pepe verde. The mixed salad from the side menu.

Chicken is always a good choice so I would choose their Pollo alla Veneziana without the cream and have a side mixed salad.

    I'd choose this

    Spiedino di mare
Chargrilled skewers of monkfish and king prawns chargrilled drizzled with chefs special lemon and olive oil dressing. Served with rocket and cherry tomatoes

    or this

    Pesce Spada al salmariglio
Chargrilled swordfish steak with salmarilio sauce - garlic, lemon, olive oil and parsley served with mixed leaves

They both sound yummy to me, and not too caloric.

    Filetto al Pepe verde
Fillet steak chargrilled to your liking in a simple but delicious green peppercorn sauce

i usually go for the plainest steak. and only eat half. not sure about this 'green' peppercorn sauce though, sounds weird.

    Ciao!
I just have to add my two cents since I speak Italian! hehehehe

There IS a salad dish: Insalata Caprese! Insalata= salad

Under Contorni there are more: Contorni= sides
    Green Salad
    Mixed Salad
    Rocket, Cherry Tomato, Parmesan Cheese

I would probably choose to eat a side salad and half of the Rotolino di Spignola without the Lobster Bisque. Yum!

    Buon Appetito!

    Rotolino di Spigola

Seabass fillets rolled around tender asparagus spears and wrapped in Parma ham, oven baked and finished in a cherry tomato and a lobster bisque
this doesn't sound too bad (calorie wise- sounds DELICIOUS otherwise) if it's just a little bisque

If it were me, I wouldn't worry about it- enjoy your meal, ask for the sauce on the side, drink more water & take a walk after and work it off tomorrow (but that's just me)

Holy Cow! What a menu - it's all gorgeous.

Are you going traditional italian course? If so, go with the scallops for antipasti (Spiedino di Capesante). It'll be salty, but at least it isn't fried.

For primi or pasta, split the course with a friend and stay away from garlic, lemon sauces - those are almost always butter and olive oil. If it was just the OO, it'd be good - but the butter...probably not the best way to go. Go with the Penne Arrabiata. It seems to be straight tomato based.

And for main course, I would go with the Spiedino di mare from the Fish menu. Everything on the meat side looks wonderful, but those sauces are scary! If you could request sauce on the side, it might be the best bet.

For the contorni or sides, I would go with the Spinach. If it's prepared sicilian/italian style, it's going to be wonderful with fresh garlic and chopped tomato with some olive oil. Ask how they do it - so you don't get creamed spinach.

Have fun! Good luck and don't stress too much.

The most important thing is you enjoy your meal. Don't get too wound up in the calories, it's not like you eat here every day. You have some good suggestions above, worry and you won't have a good time.

You could also do a 10K run before going. ;-)
