I'm putting together a small home gym now. I considered going the full olympic weight set/bench and squat rack and all kinds of stuff as I had the room. But ultimately I decided on the following: 1 - set of Bowflex Selecttech adjustable dumbbells 552 $299. 1- Rogue Flat utility bench (Presses and other upper body stuff)…

You can go every day just as long as you are spitting up your workouts. For example one day cardio, next day upper body, day three cardio, day four lower body etc. If your doing the same workout day after day then it will start to wear on you. Are you actually working out for three hours? Running on the treadmill or…

One of my friends and myself are always competing on how many days in a row we log. It's good for motivation and some bragging rights. It also helps if I've gone a few days with not posting any exercise and I see that she's been going running, biking etc. I'm like dang I need to go for a bike ride or do a bunch of push ups…

Just keep the walking easy and slow. Only walk fast enough that you feel you are exerting yourself but you should still be able to talk if someone…

No. The protein allowances in the MFP are ridiculously low. If you are working out you need all the protein you can get to help you recover. I used the custom setting to reflect more of a zone diet, a 40/30/30 plan.

hey wbgolden, I've been riding bikes for 20 years, mostly road. If you are wanting to ride a bike to get into shape, then you already have what you need. If you get a dedicated road bike you will go much faster, but you will use less energy doing it, since road bikes are built to go fast with less effort. So then you would…

If you live near power lines that can affect it also. I notice when bike riding when I ride under some really big power lines it will read 278 each time. There are other things that can influence it also, microwaves etc...

The strength training section is more of a log. If you want calories burned enter it into the cardio section under weight training.
