First 5k today. Sister assures me I ran as much as I walked, so that's something!

So, morning runs are definitely easier than afternoon runs.

I'm in for 35 miles. I completely fell off last month, but I'm ready to hit it again! I hope to increase my mileage as my "running" becomes less "walking" and more "jogging."
-
Finished! I know my goal was small compared to some, but this is the first running/jogging i have ever done! Next month, I want to focus on longer run times instead of total miles.
-
Almost there!

Longest walk/jog yet! Actually felt a bit of the runner's high! Looking forward to running as the weight comes off, and it becomes a little easier.

I took an unintended five day break, but I'm back to finish my miles. I'm actually looking forward to raising my mileage next month!

Could I please get more details of the advice you received? I am new to running also and feel like I am so far off from doing it correctly. Thanks and big congrats! Kris

Thanks for your input. I have an appointment next week for an unrelated matter, but I will bring this up with my doctor. It seems so weird that it is bothering me at all when it makes no difference in my daily life. Like I said, no one knows if i don't tell them.

Thanks! Inserts seem like a logical solution. I'm kinda wondering why I didn't think of this :ohwell:

I agree with what everyone has said here, so it doesn't really need repeating. One thing you might consider though is to change the goal on your tracker. I'm not saying change your overall goal, but track it in smaller increments. With 400+ pounds to lose, your tracker will move very slowly. Try setting it for 50 pounds or…

I would like to join, but I have a question. Does distance on an elliptical or arc trainer count? I use both of these in addition to the treadmill for my cardio because they are easier on an old foot injury of mine. I need to know so I can make an accurate distance goal for the month. Thanks! And keep sweatin'! Kris

I finished July with a four pound weight loss, so a little bummed but sweatin' on! Really planning to see one-derland this month! Don't let stalls get you down! I was in a slight stall the last two weeks of June. I decided to stay off the scale for a couple of weeks and just keep doing what I needed to do. My July 1 weigh in came as a great happy surprise (because the scale had actually gone up a bit but I didn't log it) Keep going! You got this!…

SW: 229 CW: 207 GW: 202 Not gonna lie, I would love to break the 200 mark this month. However, I am recovering from a knee injury which has greatly affected my exercise time. After reading how others have dealt with this, I will increase my weight training to build more muscle and therefore increase my metabolism overall.…

I recently did a ten day sugar free challenge. I was still allowed to eat sugar naturally found in fruits, veggies, and dairy, but all added sugar was off limits. This restriction will almost guarantee that you stay away from processed food. The first trip to the grocery store took some time because I read all the labels.…

Here's another non-scientific response. 1200 is what my plan defaults to, but I reset it to 1500. At 1200, I struggled to stay under everyday and the weight barely moved because my body entered starvation mode. That is one thing about MFP that bothers me, along with every other weight loss tool. Everyone always wants to…
