Hope everyone is well and doing nicely.

I've had a bad bout of flu this past week and could hardly get out of bed. Did not do much running at all and then tried getting back on my feet on Sunday for a long trail run but rolled my ankle not even halfway through! Heard an audible snap of the tendon and boy, did it hurt.

    11/2 - 17.40 (10k race/slow run home after that)
    11/3 - 12.52
    11/7 - stair reps
    11/9 - 9.32 trail

    Ouch! Hope you are okay.

I am a huge beginner and I'm only shooting for 10 minutes a day on the treadmill, I walk 10 minutes prior to running an lift weight after. When I figure out my mileage I'll chart that so I'm on the same page as everyone else.

Now, why would I laugh? I think that's great! I haven't been running again so long that I cannot remember being ecstatic over running 3 & 6 miles. 9 is fantastic! Check out my log, I rarely run more than 15 miles. The REAL long distance runners among us log their incredible runs without much commentary.
While you blazed through 9 miles today I scrapped my scheduled 12 for a mere 3 for no better reason than that I didn't feel like running. Sounds to me like you're the hero today!

All in fun...you are an inspiration to me as a new runner. And I especially appreciate the info you posted yesterday...it really helped me out. :)

Ouch - take care of that ankle and give it time to heal as well as the rest of your body from the flu!

Long run Sundays are my favorite too - love just running with no time/work restraints!

Welcome to the group and to running!

Thanks! It was a bit scary at the time as I was alone in a remote, rocky trail. It's not too bad now after RICE (without the "I" as I hate doing it).

@skippygirlsmom, you must be so proud of your daughter! I'm sure she enjoys running also because you are doing it with her :)

First run since my marathon! Everything still works!
    11/02/2014 26.2 miles
    11/07/2014 3.2 miles
    Total 29.4 miles
Welcome back Marathoner Elizabeth! Glad you're recovered & running again!
      DATE...DISTANCE...TOTAL
      11/1........7.00.........7.00
      11/2........8.75........15.75 (hit 1,600 mile mark)
      11/4........4.00........19.75
      11/7........6.00........25.75

      34 degrees and steady rain....
Ticker is about useless... 1,615 of 2000 (385 to go)
34 is cold, but 34 in the rain must have been miserable. Only 385 to go- You Can Do This!

I don't how you guys do it. 34 (1 degrees in celsius?!!) is freezing to me.
