  • Thanks for the replies. Yes they fit in my calorie allowance no problem. I've just heard a lot of people saying they're unhealthy for whatever reason and decided to ask around.
  • I like the idea of Metamucil. I like veggies and all but not a whole lot as you can tell! I think that would be a good option for me at the moment until I can start buying better foods and such.
  • Ok that makes perfect sense! Wow I've been short changing myself this whole time! I don't think it's all that bad though. I'm happy with the progress I'm making and losing weight quicker! I noticed because I had a day that I 500 calories in the red, and when I went to complete my diary for that day it told me I'd "weigh…
  • thanks for the replies! I'm definitely leaning towards taking protein shakes occasionally. My diet is balanced for the most part, and taking multi vitamins would feel like "overkill".
  • How do you calculate body fat percentage?
  • I asked this same question a few days ago, and have come to the realization that if done right, fishing can actually be a work out. I go bass fishing, and that is really active. You constantly have to cast and reel in. If you're using spinnerbait or some sort of lure you have to reel at varying speeds. That along with…
  • bump maybe I should rephrase the question. Why does fishing burn as much calories as it does? From what I understand, standing def burns calories. Holding the rod and the motions you have to do with it burns calories, and casting burns calories. I just wanted a thourgh explanation because everytime I fish and add it to the…
  • I'm not sure, I'm thinking maybe 200 - 300 at the most for a couple hours. I factor in standing, the motions with my arms from holding the rod. If I catch something of course I have to reel it in and grab it. Again I'm just fishing from a pier with fish weighing probably 5-7 pounds at the most. I'm overweight myself, but…
  • I fish from a pier standing up using a variety of lures and bait. I just ask because I went to put "fishing" as exercise on my diary. Not thinking it was going to be much I was surprised that 2 hrs of "fishing, general" burns over 500 calories. I'm not saying the site is wrong, I was just wondering about the science behind…
  • I like your idea chuck. I got lucky with some juices, some are already on here with the calories. The only one I added whole fruit was grapes, and then I put a percentage of it sense (like a poster said before) I'm not actually eating the whole fruit. Thanks for the replies!

  • Yeah the lake I want to fish had info about the lake and the fish in it, they have bass, silverfish, and black crappie (specks), and also catfish.
  • I went up to WalMart the other day and talked to the associate. They were telling me about a Shakespere rod called the Tiger? It was under 20 bucks and it's a rod/reel combo. Looked pretty nice. She also told me I didn't need all the lure and hooks crap that came with some combos, so I was planning on buying the rod, a few…
  • I'm going to be fishing in a lake, so I'm not sure what type of fish are in there (just starting)
  • Hmm, I'll definately think about all your great replies guys. Just for the record if I go over to the red it's not that big a leap, like -4, -6, etc. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't hurting my weight loss. I'm not that worried about protein, but the cholestrol makes me think so I'll keep that one on my settings. Thanks…
  • hmm, well I have a desk job. So not a whole lot of calories coming from that. I try to do things like push ups and such during breaks. I actually just got back into working out having lived a lax lifestyle for some months. I generally do walking on certain days, and weight lifting on the other days. Just generally getting…
  • I used the calculator on the site and it says I burn 2,175, not including any extra exercise I do
  • I'm sort of new to serious eating change, what are macros?
  • I like your style. My dad has the same theory. As long as you're staying below your calorie intake, and also getting some exercise you'll def lose the weight. Thanks for the insight! Awsome job I might add with the weight you've lost so far!
  • Some really good insight here
  • Thanks for all the great replies everyone! I'm going to seriously think about everything you all have said and see what's best for me and my weight loss venture.
  • thx again guys, it worked
  • hmm, thx guys I'll try that
  • Good advice, it does make sense that walking long periods would burn as much as half the running. Me and my dad walk 45 minutes every other day.
