Photos for sure. I hate seeing how fat my face looks...and my arms in sleeveless tops.

I started this on January 8 and I've already lost 12 pounds (five weeks - 12 pounds!). I'm 5'2", weigh 160 (started at 172). My goal is 132.

Ready for bed after a good day of fasting. It was a hard one for me, but made it. I will be dreaming of food, however!
-
Stuck in the house all day because of a blizzard. I scheduled a fasting day today. Not sure how easy this will be as I'm stuck in the house. Feeling determined!
-
My daughter and I are doing this together. She just asked me about adding a day. I wasn't sure I should advocate it. Let me know how it goes.

Since I try to work out on my fasting days, I have to eat something in the morning. I keep it under 200 calories - a simple fruit and soy milk smoothie with some fresh spinach works. I just drink the rest of the day to save the calories for dinner.
-
I heard that muscle can also hold some water when its sore, which might cause the scale to go up. Not sure if that's an old wives tale, but...maybe?
-
Just going to bed now after a good fasting day. Hungry, but just brushed my teeth. That always helps we call it a day!

Measure, count...only eat back half your exercise calories. I'm also having some success with the Fast 5:2 diet (don't hate on me people - I'm eating really well on all the other days and eating fruits, vegetables, & lean protein on my fast days...I am NOT starving myself).
-
I often just have to go bed at 8:00 on my fast day. Getting upstairs away from the kitchen helps of course, but I also just can't manage being around anyone.
-
I'm loving this too. It is so simple and seems doable for the long haul (I have over 50 pounds to lose).
-
I meant the 5:2 diet. Seems safe to me. And I'm getting real results.

The Fast 2 Diet everyone. And I'm super careful to eat really well on the days I'm not doing the fasting. I just heard a story about it on NPR. Here is a link to the story. http://www.npr.org/blogs/thesalt/2013/07/29/205845319/two-day-diets-how-mini-fasts-can-help-maximize-weight-loss

I try to keep between 1000 and 1200 no matter what while losing, but occasionally I go above - but only on days I do a heavy workout. I work out about four days a week.
-
Eat some apples, some almonds (good protein, good fat, high calories), some yogurt....so many healthy choices. I have no trouble getting up to 1200.
-
Just the other day I received a catalogue in the mail for plus sized women. Seriously. Did someone on the world wide web track what size clothes I purchased recently and target me in that way? I will not miss that.
-
I weigh daily as well. It keeps me on track.
-
With a 1200 calorie limit that would not do for me. I will stick with my yogurt and blueberries (and a little Kashi sprinkled on top)!
-
Egg plant meatballs. Yuck!
-
I'm always up for shopping! (Of course I get that its expensive, so I'd go with stretchy stuff maybe?)
-
The saying goes, "Feed a cold; starve a fever." When I'm sick I tend to want carbs....not sure why. I try my best to limit them. But when you are sick a piece of toast, slathered with butter and sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar hits the spot.

One of my favorite websites is skinnytaste.com. There is even a way to save the recipe's you like into a virtual recipe box so its easy to find them again. And it is a way to make a grocery list based on each recipe making it easy to shop for what you need.

I've been making a plan for the day first thing in the morning. That way I know how much wiggle room I have snack wise.
-
Weights before. Willing to try anything!
-
Okay. I'll try to eat more. I will also try to eliminate my little sugary treats (I love those Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches), and my glass of white wine. I'll let everyone know if I see good results so everyone can learn! Thanks to all who posted!

There are two women at my gym who work out together all the time. They always pick two treadmills and talk at the top of their lungs the whole time they are on them. It makes me crazy! Then there is a guy who stares openly at me while I'm on the elliptical machine. I know I don't look good so not sure what he is staring…

I often don't eat "breakfast" till late. I work out first thing and don't like to do that on a full stomach. I have a cup of coffee and then hit the gym. When I get back home I shower and get dressed AND THEN eat something. Sometimes its around 9:00 or 9:30.

I'm trying to stay around there. Really hard. My BMR is only about 1381, so in order to lose I should really be about 500 calories below that. Of course, I do exercise -- burning about 250 - 450 (depending) every day. So....I try to keep to 1000 - or a little bit over. I substitute a protein shake for at least one meal…
