I did however try many things...I got back to swimming, I learned how to lift weights, I joined Crossfit and did that for nearly 2 years, along with eating Paleo. I…

  • Well, I have faced my worst fears and my sad, sorry self and decided to climb back on the wagon. This website is the best there is, I got more support and great ideas than I had ever had before. Due to travel and crazy life schedule, i fell away from a very strict schedule that had helped me to chisel off 35 pounds…
  • That is a great idea, Mary, I had not thought of that, and there are plenty in South Bend, home of Notre Dame University.
  • Hi guys, It has been a long time since I posted anything....my life just seemed to get up and run away with me. I had some trouble with my heart beat last month....thank God that seems to have calmed down and I am treating it with medication. Now I am facing a new challenge. My dear dad is facing very serious surgery on…

  • Hi, everyone, this is Deb from Thailand...you know, 'fat and fifty and swimming like crazy' I fell behind on all the posting round about mid Dec....our busiest time of year on this mission field. We had 2 back to back medical out reaches in Novemeber followed by 2 back to back teams of young Malaysians who came to Thailand…

If you are doing carbs, make it a whole meal bun. Or Grilled Chicken breast sandwich with reduced fat pepperjack cheese on top. Loads of…

  • Sometimes when we are very overweight, people look at us and think or wonder to themselves, "Boy, that person should really do something about their weight." Then we DO begin to do something about it, and it somehow invites all those people who ever thought thoughts to say what they are thinking out loud. Things like…
  • Thanks you guys. I must say I have really loved being a part of this community. I find so much encouragement and accountability here. The accountability is mainly personal...in making sure I log my food and exercise each day. But the encouragement just reading all your posts, not just to me but to the many others on this…

  • Wow! That sounds great, Viviakay re:burning calories while doing spiritual activities. I lead worship sometimes on a Sunday with a band, and after playing guitar for 40 minutes, I am a sweaty mess. I looked it up on this website and thereis a catagory for heavy guitar playing! ha! It is a win win!
  • Hooray!!! I finally got on the scale this morning...I was scared cos of the no exercise and no menu control. I lost another 2.5 pounds. God is SO good!
  • It did, Redalee, and then my toe promptly turned BLACK. Of course we were no where near a doctor, so I just kind of 'grinned and bore it.' Until I could see what it was like in a few days. It is still swollen and sore, but now is a lovely delicate purple. Things are looking up! :)
  • I have just come back from speaking in a Ladie's conference in a very poor part of the country where I work. Had an absolutely WONDERFUL time both spiritually and socially with these gals. So many of them commented that I looked YOUNGER and BEAUTIFUL, but because I have lost inches and not many pounds they could not put…
  • Thanks you guys for the great input...I am sorry I wasnt able to come back to the board sooner...I live in Thailand so our days are your nights. About the breaststroke. I am pushing really hard, not coasting. Like in a competitive swimming manner. I swam on teams, too, from age 9 - 20 and I am pushing that hard, just…

Swimming as a fat burner. I know it has to do with your heart rate...and I am sure mine is elevated to say the least. I am swimming…
  • Hooray! I lost another pound...down 13 now, in 6 weeks.
