  • I had my gallbladder removed in November. You definitely are just experiencing water retention and swelling. My weight jumped 8 pounds literally overnight after my surgery. It went back down after a week or two. Also it takes time for things to go back where they belong. My tummy was a weird shape for a few months. You…
  • Could be the high fiber cereal. I used to eat a lot of fiber one stuff but started getting awful aches among other unpleasantries... fiber from veggies seems less offensive to my tummy then "fake" fiber in health cereals.
  • Lose the weight slowly and be sure to include strength training. I went from 222 to 167 and I don't really have loose skin. It took me a year and a half to lose. I'm currently trying to lose another 15 pounds so i guess we'll see what I'm like at the finish line. I'm 29 and 5'6.
  • I think part of it is realizing that weight loss isn't a straight line. I weigh everyday life a crazy person. What I've noticed is that even during loss, my weight gotta up and down, up and down. It can get discouraging til you step back and see the forest from trees. If I stick with it, the zig zag of my weight will trend…
  • That's awesome! Nice progress already! I'm 5'6". I started at 222. I'm at 166 now. I went from a tight size 18 to a comfortable size 10. I still want to lose a little bit more, but I can't tell you how much better I feel. I used to feel tired and sore all the time. Now I am so much more energetic. I actually feel younger.…
  • I feel the exact same way. I've lost 56 lb so far. Went from 222 to 166 at a height of 5'6. I lost most of my weight the end of 2012 into the spring of last year. I'm still working on the last bit. But people come up to me all the time to comment on how good I look and ask questions about how I lost the weight. On one hand…
  • Height 5'6 Weight 167 Bust 39 Waiste 29.5 - 30 (it seems to flunctuate) Hips 37.5 Right now I am a size 10, but a size 8 doesn't seem too far off. I think my goal weight is 145 ish. When I started losing weight I was 222 lb with measurements of 48-42-47.5 and wearing a 16/18.
  • I've lost about 55 pounds so far. I started at 222 lb. I have been losing weight very slowly and doing lots of strength training. I do Body Pump too. I don't think I have that much loose skin. I mean... it's not like I had tight skin when I started. lol. If you do lots of strength training and you lose weight slowly, it…
  • I agree with others about not really liking that term cheat day. When I had tried to lose weight in the past, Iallowed myself cheat days and that was my undoing. One round attempting to lose weight, I think I actually gained more than I lost before giving up once again for a while. July of last year was when I finally…
  • Netting is a little different than only eating 1000 calories. There are some problems with those four things you listed though. The way our bodies process food is far too complex to reduce everything to "a calorie is a calorie no matter what" ways of thinking. Where your calories come from does matter. I have worked as a…
  • When you say raise your goal weight do you mean you want to lose more than your planned or less than you planned? Either way, as long as you do things the healthy way, go for it. My first goal was to lose 50 pounds. I'm a few pounds beyond that goal now and I definitely want to lose more. I'm at 168 right now and am hoping…
  • This summer I am 54 pounds lighter than I was last summer. I have been really surprised at how much less the heat bothers me. In the past I always felt like I was melting outside. Now the heat's not so bad. I mean... I still sunburn. haha. But I don't feel like I'm suffocating. Also I have soooo much more energy. Things…
  • It sounds like we're in the same boat. I'm 5'6". The past couple months my weight's been going back and forth between 169 and 172. My goal is to lose another 25 to 35 pounds. I started out at 222 last July, so I have lost over 50 pounds. For some reason it feels tougher to lose weight now, but I will get there! Feel free…
  • Wow! You guys are amazing! You should be so proud!
  • Me too me too! I started losing weight last July. I weighed 222 lb. ouch. Last year my husband and I were thinking about ttc about right now actually. But I think we're going to wait just a few more months. I have lost a bunch of weight since last summer, but I would be pretty bummed if I didn't have the chance to finish…
  • Hi Mrs. Melissa. I started my weight loss pretty close to your starting weight last year. I weighed 222 July 1 of 2012. Today I am 177 and still trying to lose another 25-40 pounds. (I'm not really sure what my exact goal weight is.) I'm 27, married 6 1/2 years, no kids yet either. I'll send you a friend request. It…
  • You are so not crazy. This is so funny, because my husband and I were talking about hitting some garage sales this summer to look for baby stuff... and we haven't even started TTC yet. lol. We didn't do it because we bumped our TTC date back a lil. Originally we were going to try this fall, but decided to wait for winter.…
  • Lobbyart - I have been charting for birth control. (3 years successful!) I was on the pill before that. I would say it really took a good 3-6 months for me to have a normal-ish cycle after I quit the pill. And now that I'm about 3 years off hormones, I have been noticing some more changes in my cycle that have brought me…

  • Hi ladies. I'm new too. My husband and I haven't started TTC yet. We're thinking of starting around Jan/Feb of next year. (That's only 5 months away!) I really want to lose some weight and get in shape before then. That's really one of the major motivators I have going right now. We've been married 6 years and in that time…

  • Hi ladies. I'm a newbie to the MFP message boards too. I've used MLP on and off for a few years, but I got really serious about losing weight about 6 weeks ago or so. Accountability makes all the difference in weight loss and in faith. I'm 27, married, no kids yet. Working and going to school for my masters. Trying to…
