  • I'm trying to quit Splenda completely. I keep hearing it contributes to memory loss. I've gone back to the pink stuff and will eventually switch to Stevia. I know honey is a good substitute but I'm not a big fan.
  • The Deep Chocolate VitaMuffins are good if you can find them. 100 calories, 1.5g fat, 9g fiber, 4g protein, 26g carbs per muffin.
  • Wow, that's awesome! Congratulations and keep up the good work!
  • No. A pound of muscle weighs the same as a pound of fat. Muscle is just denser.
  • I agree with some of the posters above that say food is the best way to get in protein. I have friends and a roommate that are big into protein powder smoothies, green monsters, etc. but none are trying to lose weight and most lift heavy. I've tried a few and in my opinion, food is more filling and tastes a lot better.
  • I'm hypothyroid and was put on medication at age 7. Even though my TSH is within the "normal range" with medication, it takes me a bit longer to lose weight than I'd like. But don't get discouraged. You can and will lose weight if you cut back and exercise. Just make sure to get your levels checked as often as your doctor…
  • I never tell anyone. I feel like I'm always trying to lose the same 10 pounds. In the past, people never made comments while I was in the process of losing weight. I just get to a certain weight and start hearing, "You've gotten too thin". I can never win.
  • I feel your pain! My thighs are the last thing to go. I have Britney Spears legs. And even at 109 pounds and 5'5" my quads are large. Overall weight loss is key, as is cardio. If I work on my lower body 2 or 3 times a week, I bulk up. I always do lunges instead of squats because squats tend to increase my quad muscles.…
  • Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri but moved to NYC four years ago.
  • I have a pre-made list I can send to you. I don't want to cut & paste the list here because its super long. I like to have a large variety to choose from.
  • The most realistic for me personally (height & build wise) would be Britney Spears at her peak. For him, Jason Wade lead singer of Lifehouse is my ideal. Looks & body. He's always looks hot!
  • I've never lost weight doing HIIT. I tend to lose more weight if I do long or multiple cardio sessions. I suppose it's good for building cardio endurance. One thing I dislike is that it makes me very hungry.
  • Single and I personally hate it. I'm not getting any younger.
  • I use chocolate 365 powder from Whole Foods mixed with low fat plain kefir smoothie. Sometimes I do half greek yogurt & half kefir for a thicker texture. I'd love to switch to Shakeology from Beachbody but I'm on a budget and that stuff is pricey!
  • I'm in! I'm on day 4 of level1 but close enough. I've been alternating days with 30DS & Ripped in 30. I did 30DS in the past and it became a bit too monotonous for me. I'm going to switch things up a bit. 30DS & RI30 are very similar. This will give me a reason not to skip today.
  • Maybe you should log on for a weekend. It's very easy to underestimate your intake. Weekends can undo all the hard work you put in during the week. As far as thyroid levels go, are you experiencing any symptoms other than not losing weight? It's not a bad idea to get your levels checked. I was diagnosed with hypothyroid…
  • Really? I read or heard somewhere that the metabolism does not change during TOM. Not a medical expert so I could be wrong on this. I usually get cravings the week prior. I'm back to normal as soon as TOM begins. I hope you are right and I'm wrong.
  • I would like a few more friends as well. I'll send you an invite!
  • I didn't read all the responses so I'm sure it's been mentioned. Wellbutrin SR. In most cases it decreases the appetite.
  • Chili's used to have an amazing Caribbean salad with fresh pineapple, mandarin oranges, dried cherries, green onions, cilantro, sesame seeds and honey-lime dressing and your choice of grilled chicken or grilled shrimp. I think it was 5-7 Weight Watchers Points (old plan). Not sure if it's still on the menu but it is…
  • Sounds like you have a good plan! You'll look great. Have you looked into doing Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred or Ripped In 30? Both programs will definitely get you bikini ready in 30 days. I highly suggest Ripped In 30 because it's more fun and a bit more challenging than 30DS. It has 4 levels as opposed to 3 levels in…
  • I'm also from St. Louis, MO (yay!) but moved to NYC 4 years ago for a job. I'm actually moving back to the St. Louis area at the end of August. I've had enough of life in the Big City. I love NYC but it is SO expensive.
  • I like it because it motivates me but I take what it says with a grain of salt. Too many other factors involved. Not everyone loses at the same rate.
  • I would definitely count them. I wake up hungry in the middle of the night sometimes and eat a bowl of oatmeal. It's filling and comforting. I usually don't eat all my calories so I can add it on the day before or after. I don't think it matters either way as long as you track it.
  • I don't own a scale and I don't plan on buying one either. I just go by my reflection and the way my clothes fit. Haven't figured out how I'm going to show my progress on MFP yet.
  • Congrats! Turbo Fire is amazing and I'm sure you're gonna love it. Chalene Johnson always delivers and never disappoints. She's so motivating. I would start with Fire 30. There is a new to class option you can choose at the beginning of the DVD. Chalene breaks down the moves for you in sections. I urge you to do this as…
  • A few friends recommended it. I tried Sparkspeople but it was too time consuming. MFP is much more user friendly.
