Wow, sorry. I'm absolutely not advertising, just sharing something I found that we really liked! I used almond milk in it, not soy milk... I just kind of copied what they said you could use not even thinking about how no one in here would use it. While yes, processed food is still processed food I know I still make things…

Well, now I simply have to make this AND dip them in Lindt extra dark chocolate! It's a good thing I sell it, because I have plenty of bars for all the cococrack bars I'll be devouring! Thanks for sharing :D

Thanks y'all! I had bought the organic ranch to carry me over until I could get all the stuff to make my own and have since thrown it out. Thanks for the tips. Ummm- worst headache of my life again today and I'm not sure if it's something I ate, or just getting used to it. I think I'll just be prepared for the worst of it.…

Steak is a good higher cal no sugar food. You don't even have to eat a whole steak, but maybe cook a piece and dice it up or have it in strips in the fridge to toss on a salad for added calories? Sunflower seeds also! I've been tossing them on salads. I have been under calories every day since starting this lifestyle and I…

I made these paleo "candy bars", but I made them in bite size. One bite of them and I am done! They might do the trick for you without being so sugary! They helped the first few days when I wanted sweets instead of nothing! http://www.paleoplan.com/2009/12-03/paleo-candybars/

I am just finishing up day 6 of my Paleo life! Feel free to add me- and anyone who finds this thread too- just let me know where you found me!

Good one! I as you know, just started my journey and new way of life too. I've used the coconut oil for baking and love it. I use a good olive oil as a safe cooking oil for my meets. A dash of salt, a dash of pepper- done. I'll be checking this one later to see some helpful tips! I was wondering about what to put on…

Candy bites: (I've never posted a picture in a thread before, I hope it works!) I found the recipe off Paleo Plan: Ingredients: 3 Tbs coconut oil 1/4 cup carob powder or cocoa (optional) 1/2 cup ground nuts (almonds, hazelnuts) 3/4 cup unsweetened shredded coconut 1 Tbs raw honey (optional, add more to taste) parchment…

I just started today! I made Paleo candy bars to nibble on. I blogged about them here (http://www.theyoungretiree.com/2012/08/trying-my-first-paleo-recipe-paleo.html) I have also stocked up on veggies like tomatoes, cauliflower, and broccoli that I could just munch on. You can check out some of the recipes I've found on a…

I am starting by cutting out processed foods. I made my very first Paleo recipe last night, for "candy" that tastes just like an almond joy. I know with those in my fridge, it will help with the transition cravings. This morning I had an omelet with diced ham from Sprouts, tomato and cheese from Trader Joe's. I KNOW the…

jaabee11: YOU CAN ROCK IT! It has always been such an anxiety inducing experience for me! Never again, my friend... never again!

Thanks! It is quite the positive reinforcement!

This has been me all week! I just feel so defeated. So I changed it up greatly. I'm forcing myself to not eat after 7pm. I hung a sign on my kitchen door with a list of things to do instead fo walk in and get some snacks! Find distractions for yourself- even if it's just coming and browsing the forums here! Something to…

Requested! I can always use more pals... especially on sucky days!

I am giving up the use of my debit card (for anything other than online purchases) and donating the change I get with every purchase to charity. The change I get from meals out will go to the foodbank and the money from other spending will go to a charity non-specific. When something comes to a flat dollar amount (and for…

Is it awful that I don't count it? I'm steadily losing weight and on nights where we fry something (which we do about once a month because I completely agree that you should not deprive yourself! I am serious, but recognize you need to feed cravings once in a while!) I let myself indulge and count the food, but don't count…

We're doing Chinese home "take-out" with PF Changs at home General Changs and fried rice. The sodium will be the death of us, but calorie wise, it's not so bad. Searching the boards now for low sodium recipes for at home Chinese food! That lasagna sounds DELICIOUS!

I'm in! I think this motivation will be a great boost for me right now :D

You can friend me if you want! I have PCOS and my food diary is public. It might not always be the best of days, but I try. I did not go crazy and cut anything out. My doctor in fact told me not to be so drastic. I've lost ten and it's a hard battle, but I fight it every day!

Thanks y'all! I've been looking around all over the interweb and it's just so nice to hear ways people prepare and enjoy it! I am looking forward to trying several of these options :D Tonight, I think we'll try the spaghetti squash with olive oil and salt! Thanks!

I have been doing the 10 minute kickboxing bootcamp and love it. I did the first ten minute one the first time and was sore for a few days... you need to stretch it out a little better, maybe before she starts as you're waiting for her to come on. I love having videos available instantly and have about 20 in there, waiting…

I constantly remind mself of my goals, of why I want to be healthy, and I track, track, track my food. I find when I nourish my body properly, I have no problem hitting the track and working out. I also just tell my self to get my *kitten* off the couch and do something. Make yourself go to the gym on campus- pack your…

I've had several... and several awful ones! The worst one was: the guy showed up with a buddy of his and took me to Hooters for dinner. Not that I mind Hooters, but they were rude to the waitress the whole time (in a very sexual/chauvanistic way). When they dropped me off at home, he left his buddy in the car so we could…

Oh, yum! Definitely making some chicken like this over the weekend! Thanks for sharing!

I was just put on B12 shots by my doctor (on a measurement scale of 211-986 my levels were 250- YIKES!) and will take them for the next three months. I hadn't heard anything about metabolism but am interested to hear how others react to it. I was just wiped out and exhausted all the time so I had him run some lab work. I…
