You forgot to mention the digging! Our backyard has more freakin' craters than the moon!!!! GRRRR!

What an exciting time for you! You can totally do this! Feel free to friend me if you want, I would love to support you on your journey. :)

My goal weight is 125, but I will be happy with being betwen 125-129. I've got to allow for a few extra lbs during TOM because it always happens. :)

I'm also on day 65 & I weigh almost the same as when I started. It is frustrating, but I made the committment when I started that I WILL NOT GIVE UP this time! Measuring yourself is the best bet; I also have lost inches (which I think are most important) but not lbs. Hang in there, your body will have to cooperate…

I always used to think that MFP overestimated calories burned, but then I got a heart rate monitor. MFP's estimate is always VERY close to what my heart rate monitor says. If you are uncertain, I would say split the difference. Hope this helps!

Congrats!

It's a heart rate monitor. A good one will have a chest strap that you wear & the read out comes on a wrist watch looking thing. I have a Polar FT4 & I LOVE it! You can fing them at Target or online (Amazon.com). A good one will cost between $75-100.

Recently got a Polar FT4 & I LOVE it! I think they run around $75-99 (not sure, it was a gift from my hubby).

That's a hard schedule, I feel for you! Don't underestimate the workout you are getting by doing "bath time, dinner, story, clean up toys, dishes, laundry". If you go into the exercise database, there is a choice for "cleaning, light to moderate effort" & if I was you, I would definately log it. And as hard as I know it…

I do! Feel free to add me, I would love to support you & I definately need friends who can relate to how hard it is to lose weight because of this.

You are going to get a million different answers on this, but my opinion is yes you should eat the calories burned in exercise. Your calorie goal of 1200 already has a built in calorie deficit, so if you do nothing you should lose weight with that many calories; but when you exercise you need to fuel that work out by…

I always log my strength training under cardio. You can choose activities like calistenics, strength training, or circuit training & it will post calories burned. If you have a heart rate monitor, you can also create your own exercises manually. I hope this helps!

The reason I finally joined is because I learned that I just won't do it at home. Given the choice between the couch or exercise, I always choose the couch. Most gyms offer a free week so you can try it out to see if it is something you like.

BUMP- I'm curious about this as well.

WOW! You look amazing! Congrats on meeting your goal. You have inspired me (I might even take some before pics since I haven't really lost anything yet)! :)
-
Love your post! :) It did however remind me of a blog that I read recently that inspired me; here it is & hope it inspires you to catch your wagon! You didn't fall off the wagon, you jumped Posted on 08/03/2011 by Ashalahn_LMT This post is not written for the thin-skinned and the easily offended. If your ego bruises with a…

Polar FT4! It has a chest strap. I LOVE mine!

I'm hypothyroid & I'm having a VERY hard time losing weight. I'm on meds, and at last check my levels were ok. I'm due to get my levels drawn again in a few weeks, so we will see. With that said- whether or not it is hard to lose weight, I have vowed not to give up this time! Good luck to you on your journey!

Great job! That had to be hard, but what a smart decision! :)

Liquid Stevia! It comes in a ton of flavors (currently I have vanilla cream & english toffee). I also put regular old half & half in my coffee (2T is 40 calories & 3g fat). I even take the liquid stevia with me when I go to Starbucks so I can order a coffee with skim milk & then add the stevia so it tastes like I'm…

Polar FT4! I got it at Target & I absolutely LOVE IT!!!

I had mine out just over one year ago. I am having a heck of a time making the scale move down, but I don't think it has anything to do with the gallbladder. I still have some digestive issues, but nothing like the pain I used to experience from gallbladder attacks!
-
I have. My ultimate goal is 125, but I will be happy to float between 125-129 depending on what time of the month it is. :)
-
Your calorie goal on MFP is a "net" calorie goal. The deficit is already built in. If you do activity above and beyond your normal day to day stuff, you will have to fuel that with more food. Hope this helps. :0
-
It took me 8 weeks before I lost a pound (although I was losing inches); and only after I added about 300 calories more than MFP recommended.
-
I just want to add that gallbladder problems are not always the result of stones. I had suspected my gallbladder causing my problems for years, but CT scans & ultrasounds showed no stones. One of my friends is in medical imaging & told me to INSIST that the doctor order a HIDA scan. The HIDA scan revealed that my…

I understand your frustration. MFP & the equipment at the gym are always miles apart for me. The gym machines estimate way low & MFP is always way high. Before I got my HRM monitor, I always went with what the machines said because I thought that MFP was way too generous- but I was surprised to see that my HRM & MFP are…

I think 1400 sounds about right. After one month of no progress, I up'ed my calorie goal by 200 & it seems like it is starting to work.
-
Sounds like me, feel free to add me if you'd like!

Nice to meet you! I had my gallbladder out just over one year ago & am still trying to get all my digestive issues in order. I started on MFP about 7 weeks ago, and although the scale hasn't moved yet- I feel better. I'd love to support you on your journey, feel free to friend me if you'd like.
