  • Add me too--I can totally relate. I have 15 lbs to go to get to per-pregnancy weight and I'd like to lose an additional 15-20 lbs after that.
  • Almonds or other nuts, bananas, hard boiled eggs, string cheese, apple + PB, raw veggies + hummus.
  • Let's see, I gained 42 lbs while pregnant. I am six weeks PP and am down 25 lbs. 17 lbs. to go. I told myself that at six weeks PP, I'd start tracking and get back into an exercise routine. My long term goal is to lose an extra 10 lbs in addition to the 17 over the next year. Looking forward to getting back into the swing…
  • Hey there--checking in. I am still pregnant and now five days overdue. I have had cramping/contractions on and off the last couple of days--especially at night and lost my mucus plug (or at least part of it) in the middle of the night last night. During the day I've been getting occasional cramping, but nothing close to…
  • I am--and yesterday at my 39 week appointment the doc said she still needs to drop a bit and there is no indication she's coming soon! :(
  • I think I started to show around 15-16 weeks--or at least I felt like it and my pants got tight. But looking back at pictures from a wedding I went to, you can only tell a little bit.
  • Wow, thanks for sharing your stories! Your birthing experiences, especially the one at the military hospital sound traumatic! Hopefully this time around, you get exactly what you want! The third time is a charm, right? Well, since we've just moved in, I have a lot of unpacking/organizing/decorating I want to do throughout…
  • I have tons of stuff I want to get done before she arrives, so it would be good if she waited until around the 25th to make her debut, but I'd still be happy if she came a little bit early too! I haven't seen a Chiropractor before, but I only really felt back pain two weeks ago when we were moving. I think I overdid…
  • I am a due on the 25th as well, with my first--and I started experiencing some Braxton Hicks contractions earlier this week. Baby girl has started dropping, but I am not sure about progress beyond that as my Dr. doesn't start "checking" until next week. My belly does seem to be getting rounder too, although I haven't…
  • Thanks for sharing your experience. It does seem like a stupid way of measuring your glucose--seems like they should just measure you after a normal meal instead. I think you are probably right--I probably won't have an issue with the three hour (fingers crossed). I will just try to eat healthy and not eat too many refined…

  • I have only been getting weighed at the doctors office up until this point, but I've gained 16lbs in the last 9 weeks--and I am almost 30 weeks along. After my last weigh in earlier this week, I've decided to start weighing myself once a week just to try and keep an eye on my weight. I am +26lbs total, so I am on track for…
  • Before 18 weeks, I was going to the gym about four times a week and jogging/strength training, taking spin classes, zumba classes, and body pump classes. I had to switch over to less intense workouts mostly because I would get too hungry in the middle of class and feel awful if I didn't stop to snack. I just couldn't eat…
  • As for your first question--based on my discussions with my doc, I would stay with the workouts you have already done. Increasing intensity from what you have already mastered is what could cause potential concern. I would say when you find out your are pregnant--just stick with the distance/intensity of running you have…
  • Whoops! I thought that was you--I guess it was someone else who posted all that info on cloth diapering! Sorry for the mix up! Haha...I understand being chicken though--I think my husband has convinced me. :)
  • Wow, you are a wealth of knowledge. I was just reading your post on cloth diapers yesterday. I plan on going back to that one for reference. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. As a first time mom, there is so much to learn! You seem to have it pretty squared away!

  • Hi, my name is Erin, I am 31 years old, and 23 weeks along with my first. We are having a baby girl, she is due on September 25th! We are very excited and nervous of course. We are going to be moving in about three weeks, so there is a lot going on right now! I like many others plan on breastfeeding and I also want to try…
  • We are having a girl! I am thrilled. It seems so real now that we know the gender and we got to see her little face in the sonogram. She even had her little hand resting on her stomach. As far as maternity shorts go--I am totally with you, I have tried on a few pairs and wasn't thrilled. I plan on wearing mostly…
  • Thank you all for sharing your experiences--reading your stories is really helpful. My preference would be to go without an epi, but of course, I am afraid of having one of those crazy long painful births. I am going to start the discussion about a birth plan with my doctor tomorrow, so all of your suggestions are very…

  • I find out the gender tomorrow--today is my 20 week/ 1/2 way point! I am getting really excited, although honestly, I'd be happy with either a boy or a girl. :flowerforyou: Over the past several weeks I have determined that how I feel seems to be directly correlated to how much I exercise and move. I feel exhausted, so I…
  • I have done some long distance cycling in the past (before I was pregnant) and I was still was doing 30-50 mile rides semi-regularly in very early pregnancy. At my first OB visit, I talked with my doc specifically about outdoor cycling and her primary concern was specifically regarding balance (especially once your belly…
  • Yes, Greek yogurt--always coconut Chobani actually. :) Thanks--I am hoping right around the corner I will be desiring lots of chicken, eggs, tofu, seafood and such.

  • I noticed just yesterday that I was feeling uncomfortable a little bit when sitting up or bending. I just kept feeling pressure in one spot on the left side, but today nothing, so who knows? I am eating about 2,000 calories a day too--and trying to workout 2-3x a week. After my first doctors appointment, I really feel the…
  • My doctor actually just told me this yesterday. She says anything you gain after 20 weeks should come off pretty easily--most are stuck with what they gained up to 20 weeks.
  • Hi everyone! I just had my first doctor's visit yesterday, including an ultra sound--and I found I am 11 weeks along, due September 25th, about a week or so further along than I thought! The little bugger is a squirmer too-lots of movement on the U/S. I too am struggling with the colder weather and exercise. I went from…
  • I am not aware of any other name for it--it is yellow, on the bigger side and oval shaped. My grocery story only has it in the fall and winter...Good luck!
  • This sounds delicious--I will have to try it!
  • It is all about a balance--both are good. Believe it or not, cardio also makes your heart healthier. Some of us ladies exercise for both health and fitness. I prefer to do it all.
