  • Amazing, congrats!
  • I've always been 6 feet tall, but unfortunately as I creep towards 50, I apparently have shrunk to 5'11"! I have been seriously working on my weight loss for the last year, have lost 40 lbs and still have about 35 to go.
  • When I was in HS I read a magazine article that said that tall women who dated short men lacked self confidence, so I promised never to date or marry anyone shorter than me. Been married to my 3-inches -shorter than me husband for almost 20 years
  • I just found the carrot ginger soup on the data base yesterday. I think the spicy vegetarian soup is there as well.
  • *** I couldn't have put it better! This is exactly how I feel! Love it, thanks!
  • Jocymc.....sometimes we all have to do that! Good for you! :)
  • I have been feeling "off" all afternoon. I took a nap, and am getting a headache. The whole family has had a tummy bug, and I just couldn't stand the thought of another salad tonight, so I had a homemade wheat roll (untested). We'll see what happens tomorrow. That is what I like about this plan....we get to set the rules…
  • Thanks for the warm welcome! I am excited about the weight loss success, but it almost makes it more difficult to use my weight to judge toxic reactions. For instance, I was losing 1.5 to 2 lbs a day on the cleanse. I had no loss on Chickpeas .... So does that make it toxic or not? Luckily, I had other symptoms with the…
  • I read The Plan, and for the first time in 10 years, everything about my body made sense to me. I am 46 and have been fighting hormone issues for many years. When I talked to my doctor about the symptoms, he said that I was just getting old, and there was nothing I could do about it. Many of the issues that I have had due…
  • Well, my wedding was 15 years ago. My body shape is very different than yours, too. I have a C cup breast size, and a tummy that just doesn't like to be flat. I wore an a-line dress (tight at the breast and just under the breast it starts to flare out gradually). Because of my tummy, this type style always looks good on my…
  • There was a great discussion here when this group first opened up: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/388527-large-frame-bmi-probably-applies-to-most-of-us-ttw I am 6 feet tall, and according to the article link she posted, I should hit a healthy weight at 200 lbs. Because of the larger frame, all of my weight numbers…
  • For those 5'9" or taller, we have a group on MFP called Totally tall women of MFP with almost 700 members!! :) Feel free to join us! http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/90-totally-tall-women-of-mfp
  • I haven't read all the replies because there are a LOT of them. But, I wanted to let you know that I get a lot of workout DVD's from my library. I like to switch things up a lot, so this is good for me. Also, if you have Netflix streaming, they have probably 20 workout DVDs that I use all the time. Good luck!
  • I am 6 feet tall as well. My healthy BMI starts at 200 lbs (large frame, see article linked in this discussion: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/388527-large-frame-bmi-probably-applies-to-most-of-us-ttw) I've been down to 190 before and looked awesome. I think if I get below 180, I'd look too bony and not sexy. So,…
  • Elvis signed my diaper (a clean one). Of course I dont' remember it, but we did get a picture of him. My mom has since lost the diaper. I used to live next door to Tom Bergeron (Dancing With the Stars, Hollywood Squares, America's Funniest Home Videos, etc). He is SUPER nice and really down to earth. His family is…
  • Every time I see a tall woman in the store, I check out her feet to see if she has heels on. I notice myself standing taller, stretching higher, trying to see how we compare in height. Then I start comparing weight, size, etc. The other day I was in a very large room (a gym - but not for a workout, everyone was fully…
  • I LOVE this website - it is constantly being updated. http://www.nutwiisystem.com/best-wii-exercise-games.html They rate the games based on fun and workout intensity. PS - I got my son the Active Life Explorer (with mat) for his birthday at Thanksgiving. I love playing it! Each game is only 1-2 minutes long, but you are…
  • I defintely feel bigger than other women. My husband's side of the family is short and petite, I always feel like the jolly green giant next to them. Even when I'm thin, in pictures, I still look SO MUCH larger next to them. As for feeling manly? I spent many years ONLY being able to find clothes in the men's section…
  • I married a shorty. :) I'm 6'0" and my DH of 15 years is only 5' 9". I dated tall and short guys, but many of the tall guys I met were too wrapped up in themselves. My short boyfriends always worshipped the ground I walked on.
  • I haven't looked up any more info since Montco's post. The link he posted was very thorough and informative. I'm hoping to get my husband one in the new year (or maybe for next Christmas!) :)
  • I tried for years to lose weight with no luck. I tried everything, and nothing worked. I never had my D levels tested, but my doctor put me on 5000 IUs of Vit D a day. Now, when I try to lose weight, I can. :) Good luck to you!
  • I suffer from SAD as well. Things that help me are Vitamin D supplements (5000 to 10000 IUs a day!). I also have a light box that I've set up next to my treadmill - I get light therapy and exercise therapy at the same time (even 20 min at a slow pace helps!). I did take an extreme step, though. I used to live in the…
  • I know you said "NO TEA" but I have recommend Celestial Seasonings Herbal Teas. I hate the taste of all regular teas (black, white, green, whatever - it has a nasty taste that I can't stand!). Celestial Seasonings teas are wonderfully tasty hot or cold without any sweetener added! There is no caffeine in them , either, so…
  • I have some NEW Lane Bryant jeans in a size 18 that fit great, but the OLD pair of Lane Bryant jeans that I pulled out of the back of my closet are a size 20 and I can barely button them. I'm pretty sure that they have done some vanity sizing since I was last at this weight. I've also noticed that, with Lane Bryant's blue…
  • I consider it an NSV also. Sometimes, when I want to feel like I've made some progress, I'll wear the pants I have to keep pulling up again and again all day. Annoying, but worth every thought that these were once very tight!
  • Yesterday, all my comfy jeans were dirty, so I put on a pair that I usually have to squeeze into. I think they are a tight size 18 or a larger size 16 (not sure, the tag is faded - just comparing to my other pants from Lane Bryant). Anyway, a friend, who doesn't know that I'm trying to lose weight said, "Wow. You have a…
  • Non Scale Victory
  • I love those numbers! WOW! I haven't measured my wrist, but those numbers definitely line up with how I FEEL about myself. I feel like I cross the line between obese and overweight at 240, and that is what this BMI stats tell me. Also, I feel great about myself and look awesome at 200, and this BMI says that it is where I…

  • I'm 5 feet 11 and 1/2 inches tall, but I claim 6 feet. I always wanted to be 6 feet tall, and I figure I'm close enough!
