  • I'm alarmed at the "it's a guy thing" comment....he sounds like one of those "go make me a sandwich" kind of boyfriends. Keep working hard and don't give it up because he feels threatened you'll be a become a better lifter than him ;-)
  • Definitely true.
  • Sorry to hear you had a bad day. I've had a lot of those "what am I going to do" moments myself and it has crippled more than one exercise plan for me, so you're not alone there. I have also worked the kinds of jobs one "can't talk about" and those were extra terrible when they wanted to be. It sounds like you're under a…
  • THIS!! I can't stand button ups with my Ds. Impossible to negotiate, and I have to remember which brands run small or large. I've been sticking to layering dress clothes to avoid the dreaded buttons.
  • I had this problem in the past too, but I found that going to the gym straight from work helped a lot. That way I'm not distracted by the family or the electronics. It takes some adjustment because a lot of people can be tired after work, but it's great to de-stress. My husband's work schedule (12 hour shifts) makes it…
  • I have this issue too, but I've been pretty successful with thrifting. Thank goodness too, because affording Lane Bryant has been impossible lately! If you're sure about your dimensions, I would try the online route. There are tons of sites out there that are exclusively plus size that don't break the bank.
  • I'm a fellow grad student in the thesis nightmare of an MA program. I wholeheartedly agree with the comment above about cooking in bulk; it saves lots of time. Not sure how much reading you suffer through, but it always makes me too tired to write anything substantial - so I exercise! The energy boost from that usually…
  • I think that Zumba offers enough of a variety to prevent boredom, which I get from things like jogging. Because of knee problems, I can't jog without injury, but Zumba has been great for me. When I first started I noticed results (measurement changes) in two weeks. Best of luck to you!!
  • Thanks for the post OP, I was wondering about Dance Central 3. I have 2 and use it to supplement my cardio. I don't know if I'm ready to kill myself with Nike+, but I'll get there!!
  • I have this and use it. It offers a wide range of activities to do (cardio and strength training), and I find them pretty effective. Their intensity has a pretty nice range for what I need, but athletes, intense bodybuilders, or insanity/P90X folks might not find them challenging enough. The activities range from 2 to 45…
  • YES! Zuzkalight workouts make great exercises out of relatively few items, and they are very challenging too!
  • I am also a chubby girl who enjoys yoga. I did use the DVD route at home, but became bored very quickly. Now I'm using YouTube channels to supplement my yoga practice or learn new things (I can't afford to take classes). Videos from Yogatic are among the best in my opinion; hundreds of videos, several of which address…
  • The sleep feature is actually pretty handy. Since it measures movement on more than one axis, you can solve those mysteries of why you feel like crap the next day. It requires wearing it on the wrist you use less, and I feel it's pretty accurate. Usually on days when I feel terrible, the FitBit says I woke up 6 times or…
