  • I’m not having a great month in terms of weight management. there is plenty of emotional eating and bad decisions being made causing the scale to jump almost 6kg in 2 weeks. I know it’s not all permanent gain, but some of it definitely is and it makes me feel fat which triggers all sorts of feelings for me. Despite this I…
  • Checking back in even though February isn’t completely over. I’m on track with maintaining my weight and even approaching that 85kg (although this morning was 86.5 😔 )and I’m starting to land my new workout routine. The snacking can be improved though, it’s been a long time since I had to contend with office food and…
  • I went cross country skiing twice today, totalling about 13 km. I think the most I’ve done in a day previously is 9km. Today was approaching the edge of my current ability, but a good baseline for the future. And I went around parts of the trail that we’ve previously deemed too difficult for me ☺️
  • We decided to make pancakes for breakfast. Instead of bringing out the jam I remembered that we have both blueberries and raspberries in the freezer and pumped up the volume of my plate without adding more sugar 😃 *compared to jam that is, I know berries are sweet in themselves
  • Apparently jeans and trousers are a lot more durable at a lower weight. I used to need new ones every 6 months or so since the thighs would be worn through despite not being a very active person. None of my current pairs show the slightest sign of wear despite being several years old, and they were all bought used!
  • My main sport is indoor rock climbing. There is a big problem solving aspect that many find engaging and it is truly great exercise. I also enjoy running, power yoga (yea, type A 😂) and can put up with swimming although that one isn’t a favourite right now. Being a student, and with a fear of driving, I would also assume…
  • Well I want my average weight for February to be 85kg. That’s where I’ve been weighing in these first few days on the month. However my main goal right now is to maintain while starting a new job with short notice. I will focus on sticking with workouts (reduced duration/intensity if needed) and steps (for days when I’m…
  • I borrowed a jacket from my partner without giving it much thought. It’s a men’s medium and while it wasn’t a great fit it did close over my hips without issue despite the big hoodie underneath.
  • Claiming this NSV on behalf of my partner who is generally a very snack-y and dessert-y person. He just picks at things until they’re gone whereas I often urge him that we can save some for another time, the treat food will still be available (aka I won’t eat it without him). Tonight I proposed we should have a treat in…
  • I’m indoors as well, top rope and some lead climbing but very rarely bouldering. I happen to live close by a great gym in stockholm.
  • My climbing harness is now fully tightened around the waist, literally can’t make it any smaller.
  • I ate only one finger of a twix yesterday. Seriously, the other finger is still in my backpack and I don’t even care. The key was I took out only one finger to enjoy with my coffee and saving the rest “for later” only later never arrived. This was helped by the fact that I was in training sessions yesterday and not about…
  • Wow what a transformation. And I love the yellow dress!
  • Nice! Love to see the hard work paying off in day to day activities 🙂 and as an added bonus shovelling snow was an excellent way to boost your NEAT for the day which is always fun.
  • Agree! I only anticipate losing another 5 kg and the skis I bought should work well for me in that range. I was holding off buying skis partly to ensure it was something I wanted to commit to (big investment for my current situation) but also because I wanted to stabilise in the weight range where I would use them. So I…
  • I bought cross country skis this weekend and was not embarrassed to tell the sales person my weight.
  • I noticed today that my running jacket is a loose fit again. It zips without any awkward manoeuvring and covers my bum without hugging it. Gave me a boost when I had a hard time getting out the door 🙂
  • This year I want to prioritise more lead climbing and will buy an ohm belay device in order to feel more confident to do so with my regular climbing buddies who are all around 25kg lighter than me. I also want to become a more confident cross country skier and make a start on downhill skiing. Finally my partner and I hope…
  • I went downhill skiing for the first time ever yesterday (I’m 33 and live in Scandinavia, so I’ve been something of an odd duck before). It was heaps of fun, a little frightening but physically well within my comfort range and I’m not even sore today. In fact I’m hoping to be back on the slopes tomorrow after alternating…
  • And the numbers are in - average weight November was 88.26 kg and December came in at 88.01 kg so I’m happy with that. 30 dec is also exactly 2 kg less than 30 nov was, so I feel confident to continue to lose in 2024. Steps will fall slightly short but land at a highly respectable average of 10467 daily in 2023.
  • My mini goal is to maintain my weight for December. I realise that with various commitments, stresses and wanting to partake in holiday treats an expectation of weight loss is not for me right now. My other mini goal is to get my 2023 step average up to 10502 as that would be exactly 1000 steps more than 2022. I’m at 10445…
  • My hiking trousers can almost be buttoned… waiting for that day with bated breath - I believe it’s about 5 kg away if I recall correctly.
  • I want to the hairdresser yesterday and noticed a couple of NSV. 1) the cape didn’t choke me, in fact I didn’t even notice it around my neck 2) my neck looked kind of slender 3) I didn’t feel the least bit self conscious as he was raising the chair. I always used to feel super heavy and like the chair would just give up…
  • I did c25k this summer and have been running with an online running group since. Yesterday the company that runs it had their 10 year anniversary and organised a celebratory run in my city (they also have physical groups). It was billed as a light jog where they adapt to the slowest person in the group but I was still…
  • All my jeans fit! I had to go digging as my frequently used pair was in the laundry and I was looking at the two pairs in my wardrobe wondering which was bigger. Tried on both - no issue and the number on the tag was actually smaller than I recalled! My waterproofs kind of fit too - they’re the type with Velcro openings on…
  • My daily step average for 2023 is now above 10 000 😃 and apple is finally telling me that I’m taking more steps this year than last (2022 was around 9500 daily in the end).
  • Borrowed my partner’s running jacket and it fit over my hips with no issues.
  • I’ve started doing up my bra behind my back instead of having to do it in front and then twist it around. Surely that’s some sort of progress. I remember years ago when I went to see a GP about a shoulder problem and she mentioned that I should come back if it progressed so I couldn’t do up my bra for example. She herself…
  • Think in terms of abilities, not aesthetics. Eg. I want to be able to go on that hike, or try rock climbing or fit comfortably in the seat at X.
