  • Its hard when the scale doesn't change. I keep at the food diary and try to see the weight loss as a perk to eating healthier and keeping my sodium down. I know I need to lose 20 pounds but I have decided not to be anxious or in a hurry about it. I have been here 45 days with the diary. My weight slowly is creeping down…
  • Healthy choice. Pineapple chicken!
  • I got rid of my size up clothes and then I quit smoking. I also started meds that are prone to adding on weight. Then I had nothing to wear. After getting some clothes that I can wear and make me feel good, I chose to space saver bag them next time as I lose weight. I will just try to be frugal about what I save (and buy)…
  • I allow myself a meal a month that is not restricted. Most days I am under my calorie count. I suppose my head says I am owed but that Deluxe burger from Dairy Queen this month was Nirvana and really special. I lost more weight that week than normal.
  • Thank you so much for this info. I appreciate it all. I was considering Yoga or Tai Chi.
  • Looking for 60 and up who are not only counting calories but looking to cut sodium to share ideas and foods with because of hypertension. Would also love ideas or tips for dealing with arthritis, a newly discovered sciatica problem and lifelong thyroid disease and removal of. Made a wonderful new acquaintance with…
  • I am a manager in retail pharmacy. We wear masks for our entire 8 hour shift. Our own choice if material or disposable. Disposable irritates me more while on but washable cloth ones are easier while wearing but my face itches all night after I get home and take it off. I washed one once and used Downey fabric softener, big…
  • I really wish they had a reply function on each post so you knew who was replying to you without hunting for it and losing your place. I really wish they put the most recent posts on page 1. So many wishes. Post menopause and arthritis is frustrating and painful. Fibro, well I cannot even imagine as I work retail…
  • I was thinking about popping in my Tai chi for beginners DVD I had never paid much attention to. Not sure how it is for calorie burning but with this pandemic, I could use something to relax to. Good luck on Yoga. Not sure if my arthritis would allow me to do much with it.
  • My sister, her kids, me and my kids all are thyroid problem generations. (I read your profile) Graves, Hashimotos and I finally had mine removed in 2003 so I am well versed on the problems it causes. Im quite a bit older than you but you are welcome to friend me. I had 7 kids and fought the thyroid issues in all of my…
  • You have done amazing! 110 geeze havent seen that number on the scale since I was in my 20's.
  • Not sure. I think you can adjust the amount of calories for your goal. Im sure a mans is different. I researched slimFast, Nutrisystem and Keto diets before coming here just to food diary my calories and all of them allow for males needing more but I never saw difference in calorie amounts based on height.
  • 62 and 5'2. For the first time over weight at 150 pounds. I started MFP almost 3 weeks ago and have lost about 4lbs but water weight fluctuates so I still say 150. I was always under 130 and someone here said it best. Every pound on a short person looks like 5lbs or more. I got use to the food diary and calorie counting…
  • I take it as a compliment someone thought I was approachable enough to become an "acquaintance" on a forum full of thousands of strangers and would not "vet" them unjustly without knowing much about them except their online name and picture. I have empathy enough to believe on some school age level, we all have trouble…
  • I am beginning to think it is the electrolytes I am lacking. Within a half hour of drinking them my head seems clearer and I feel better so I must deprive myself of the B's?
  • Agreed. Must be the way it is introduced into your system and how your body reacts to it. Some foods with it put me into digestive chaos and some drinks do not. Alot like following a Low Fodmap diet. Depending on how much you have of something and at what times of day your body accepts a bit or rejects it.
  • Thrifty is good. V-8 has alot of new flavors but they also use sucralose for alot of the newer flavors. Our Pharmacist doesn't seem to think the sucralose is bad but maybe it doesnt make her gassy like it can me. I think I need to make friends with it. Just find the amount I can tolerate and respect the limits.
  • Thank you for the non sucralose brands. LaCroix I was looking at tonight because we carry them where I work but I didn't have my reading glasses to read the very small print. I became a seltzer fan but only as I got older. Now I find them refreshing.
  • From Google research, I came to the conclusion it may be a hot topic, but it would be interesting to read the input. Especially from those who have sensitive stomach issues. Cane sugar for me works best. Sorbitol and aspartame react horribly with me. Sucralose has been iffy. Wonderful for keeping calories down but I have…
  • Over 60, so it would be great to add more friends that understand the physical changes from the natural aging process or those medical conditions like arthritis that creep in. If Jane Fonda can work with it, so can I.
  • I completely understand that people have different tastes. I read so many here that love soy milk and it makes me gag!
  • You are obviously not at the point of needing to lose weight because you have a problem eating enough. What would you say is the difference?[/quote] I need to lose and have a problem eating enough on many days. I gained from meds and quitting smoking but you cannot starve yourself into being back to a healthier weight.…
  • Most days I have problems getting enough calories because of my work schedule. Then I overcompensate when I get home after 10PM and have to sleep on the extra calories or go to bed and say I will have more tomorrow. Not sure what the answer is as of yet except I need to make sure I find some healthy snacks I can keep…
  • I like it better than almond milk. It really is creamy! I have not frothed it yet but I heard it really does, nicely. Not too many brands on the market that I have seen but I give it a month before it comes out in droves!
  • I think I need to watch the sodium intake as much as the calorie count. I never had high blood pressure until I went back to work and it was in retail. When I stayed home, homeschooled, worked the land and fruit trees, I was so low even until my mid 50's. I did have a mini 100 calorie milky way today. I think alot of…
  • I am an "essential" worker. I wear one almost 8 hours a day without many breaks. It is not enjoyable, especially if it is hot but it is doable and I do it for myself and others. It may not be 100% effective but it does help and even if it is a small percentage, that is worth the inconvenience. IMHO
  • I do not care much for breakfast. I tend to wake up and just drink coffee and then have lunch about 11:30 AM before I go to work. I have been trying to make myself eat only since I started MFP. When I do get up early I go for an English muffin because it has fewer calories than 2 slices of toast. I also try to eat a GF…
  • I should be up front and honest with you all. I am the kind of person who sees a white claw mango that is 100 calories and gets excited enough to give up eating to enjoy it after a long day at work. Something about the buzz is far more rewarding than eating.
  • Something about pretty store bought packaging with 100 calories, is more satisfying than a sandwich bag of measured out snacks. Its like a treasure hunt. "Oh look, they know I need to healthy snack and they care about me." I know I am paying a third or more for marketing and the package but, it is satisfying some how. Like…
