  • I can't anymore. I fell off the wagon in December of last year and all I've managed to accomplish in 9 months is to put on weight. I just can't do this. I'm sorry.
  • CW: 186 Gonna be high for a bit, I'm going hard at the gym to try and recover stamina and my muscles are screaming lol.
  • It's really difficult to consider this but I think I might have to switch from MFP to some other app for tracking. I loved this app, and I owe it so much. But they're locking all the useful features behind a subscription. And most of the other apps are still free. Starting Oct 1 (although people are reporting it now) even…
  • CW: 186 Was a rough week. @jugar maybe we can try switching my day to Sunday? My sense of time is so wonky lately.
  • CW: 184 We went to an omatsuri (Japanese festival) today and there was just no way I wasn't eating melon pan and drinking ramune, so. Today is not a great calorie day. But melon pan is the food of joy. It's bread wrapped in cookies! I want to go back to Japan so bad. We picked up some info on maybe taking evening classes…
  • Sorry I missed weigh in this weekend. I was asleep. I'm not even kidding, I went to bed around 9 pm Friday night and barely moved until this morning. I'm still tired. I have never experienced fatigue like this. I just can't... move. And when I'm asleep I have horrible nightmares. I don't even know what to do anymore. I'm…
  • Hi all, my name is Amber and I'm trying to get back on track after nearly a year's worth of setbacks. I'm an avid reader, I enjoy weight lifting, and I'm trying to get back on track after a bit of crash and burn last year. I started at over 270 pounds and I'm currently sitting around 183. My low point was 160, so I'm a bit…
  • CW: 182.8 Over the course of Covid, roughly 8 days, I have lost about 3 pounds. Probably muscle. I went for two very short walks yesterday, despite how exhausted that made me. I feel like at this point, it's OK to push just a little bit.
  • @micki48 That sounds "lucky" all right. I remember years ago I was on some weird medicine that made water taste like rotten fruit. It was awful. I hope you don't have to deal with it much longer.
  • I feel a lot better. Still tired, but no fever, no sniffles, no aches and pains... And also. No smell. No taste. Had a nap and woke up without either. Food without taste or smell is so vile. I gave up halfway through dinner last night. Thinking I might go on an ice cream diet because at least the texture is nice.
  • I feel better today. Mostly just sinus pain and cough now, no fever. That said, I took a nap yesterday and when I woke up, I couldn't taste much of anything anymore. So that's lousy. And random. Now I'm limited to foods that don't have offensive textures. Anyways, Covid sucks, do not recommend. I'm gonna mask up and try to…
  • Husband is feeling better. He says he has post-sick, that feeling where you're not sick-sick but just tired and feeling blah. I, on the other hand, am still dizzy, running a constant fever and struggling to climb the stairs to the bathroom without collapsing. He was sick 2 days before me so I expect to be feeling better by…
  • @jugar can I be excused this week please? My diet has been mostly bread and pills and my weight is wonky as heck. Also, guess who doesn't have the flu after all. Got my hands on a covid test. It's very definitely covid. :/ Would explain why I'm still this sick after days and days. The flu doesn't usually last so long.
  • We're in bad shape. :( His fever is scary high and I feel like I've been run over a few times. Everything hurts. Also my voice is shot. No idea if it's covid or the flu but whatever it is, it's nasty. I haven't even had a cold in three years so this sucks.
  • Husband has the flu. Or at least, probably the flu since our covid test came back negative. This is the first time in three years either of us has been sick. He's beyond crushed about it since we have to postpone a specialist appointment he's been waiting 6 months for. It's only until next week thankfully but he's been…
  • CW: 185.6 Yesterday was the second to last of my July events. We did cupcakes for a coworker's 15th work anniversary and then we took everyone axe throwing. The food was all catered and deliciously terrible plus I ate cupcakes. So you'll understand, I'm happy to come out on par with my weight. Axe throwing was a blast, and…
  • @PlaneMonkey The pulled pork was my best effort yet. Just the right amount of spicy and sweet and so much flavor. I was extremely pleased with myself. I'm so sorry about the kitten. Hopefully it's just on to another of its 9 lives, and a happier one. I've been so wound up and anxious about today for so long, and…
  • Prairie oysters are a strange phenomenon. I remember a restaurant that had them. The sign said "come in and have a ball." XD The donut grilled cheese sounds unappealing honestly. The flavor could be ok but the texture looks slimy and squishy in all the worst ways. We're doing pulled pork in the slow cooker tonight and…
  • @jugar The food that shall not be named is weirdly addictive. I'm not sure what it is. They just hit different. I'm doing OK with deep breathing and distractions for the moment. Reading or at least locating the most ridiculous books I can find, and there are so many. Husband is likely quite fed up with my gleefully reading…
  • Hello, I'm checking in to say hi. I'm not up to individual replies but I'm enjoying reading about my fellow partying Albertans. :) My anxiety levels are as high as they've ever been, which is giving me brain fog and the unpleasant sense that my skin is both on fire and trying to crawl away. If it doesn't get better I fear…
  • I went to the gym. I went last Friday and I went today, because I'm trying to ease back into things with one day a week to start. I didn't want to. I woke up feeling lousy and cranky and lethargic. But I did go, and I count that as a win. Sucks to be so much weaker than I used to be though. Trying not to be hard on myself…
  • CW: 185.8 Ugh, I'm so tired. Working today sucked. I haven't had weekend shifts in a decade. I can't complain too much because it was our idea to go in today but still. D: Next Friday we're doing axe throwing, which is the first event I've planned completely myself, and there will be food but since they left me in charge…
  • So this was what I had at the fair today: Cookie dough mini donuts. I only managed to eat half of them and then I felt so overwhelmed and full I tossed the rest. Barely ate dinner, even, which is weird for just eating 5 mini donuts. Very rich, I guess. I also nibbled some bison jerky. Bison is yummy. No rides except the…
  • Omg, I love those but they hate me. Specifically, onions are my digestion's literal kryptonite. Besides, I'll always choose sweet over savory.
  • @jugar Saturdays are still good. I'm going to a wedding tonight, because of course I have a wedding to attend on the day I decided to restart. But the way I see it, I'm driving so I won't drink and I plan to dance my face off, so it'll work out more or less. I'm also going to Stampede next week and I WILL eat deep fried…
  • Hello. I am alive. It's been so many months, I know. Some members probably dont even know me. Things have been difficult and I basically haven't been able to face anything. No coping skills. :/ It really hurt to weigh myself this morning, because I've gained so much back. But there's reality. I'm at 187 pounds and I need…
  • @jugar Please take me off the active list. I am trying to lose weight still. Still counting and weighing food. But I can't bring myself to weigh me. The prospect has been filling me with dread for weeks now. I just can't do it.
  • CW: 185 So yeah. I went to Seattle, had a ton of fun, and on my second to last day I broke a rib and my dad called me from the hospital. A bad infection complicated by his MS shut down his kidneys and nearly killed him. He spent a week there and is now at home on a cocktail of drugs and IVs. He's improving slowly. Needless…
  • I've averaged 12K steps since getting here. Today I hit 17,000 steps... and my shins hurt! My feet and knees are basically fine, but my shins and hips ache like crazy. Of course, Seattle is 95% hill. So. We did the underground walking tour today, it was really interesting. We also visited the first Starbucks, which was…
  • Still in Seattle until Tuesday. :) Tomorrow we hit MoPop and hopefully the underground tour if it's not too cold.
