Would a toaster oven be worth the kitchen space and price?
The oven our home came with is an older model. By the end of the month, using it will make the house uncomfortably warm. I typically just bake desserts but would definitely want to bake a bigger variety. I know the device would get hot, but would it heat up the house anymore than the stove top? And what would be a good…

How can you tell when you're done zesting citrus?
Pardon my ignorance. It was only a few years ago that I actually did anything past pushing the buttons on a microwave. I bought a cheap citrus zester after being tired of skipping over recipes that called for lemon or orange zest. I'm just curious- how far should I go to get that zest of one lemon so many recipes call for?…

An app like the Traditional Oven website?
I don't like measuring with tablespoons or cups, even when it's food I make for someone else. It's just wrong. Unfortunately, most websitea post recipes with them. I use Traditional Oven to convert measurements, but are there any apps that do it to make thinga a little easier? MFP keeps some solid foods with volume…

Interesting food podcasts?
I read cooked a few months ago and can't get enough. I have fun cooking and like living vicariously through some of tbe people I listen to. I'm always looking for books at thrift stores or download sites but desperately need more food and cooking podcasts. I always need more to listen to for work, house cleaning and…

Using whey in place of broth?
I started making my own yogurt and have been searching for things to do with the whey left behind. I've read that it could be used in place of broth. I know I can make my own from bones and veggies, but whey would take much less effort.

Making skyr or quark?
I've made two successful batches of strained yogurt (just an fyi, Kroger Carbmaster is a horrible starter) and have an itching to try something else next time. From what I've read, for both, you'd need something called rennet? Is this something I can find in stores. I don't mind shopping Amazon, but would rather be able to…

What fats do you like for roasted veggies?
I decided to roast some vegetables in the slow cooker last night. I can't believe I didn't try this sooner! It's a lot tastier, quicker, and easier than cutting raw veggies everyday. I used 14 grams of bacon grease this time around and plan to add 7 more grams of whatever I use next. The bacon grease was nice, but I'm…

No bake dessert recipes?
When you're an adult out of school, not working in education, summer sucks. Even with the air conditioning, the house would get unbearably hot. I'm used to just sticking to the slow cooker or skillet for my meals but sweets are another story. I made this tonight, but what are some of y'alls favorite no bake desserts? I'd…

Would there be any real issue eating chicken hearts too many times per week?
I picked up some hearts and liver a while back because I really wanted some offal. The liver was okay, some parts of it were a little unpleasant, but the hearts are so *kitten good and cheap. I usually buy three cans of tuna and three cans of sardines per week for my lunch. The sardines are too delicious to kick off, but I…

Dishes to try in Spain and Italy?
I'm less than a month, I going to Spain for ten days and Italy for three and wonder if y'all can give me some good recommendations. Pizza is a given for Italy. It's actually the tour itinerary! I'm actually more curious for Spain's cuisine!

How did you "play" with your food as a kid?
I was just eating some Cocoa Pebbles and remembered that I used to imagine the contents of the bowl as a crumbling ice cap. During Looney Tunes, I would grab some Cheetos and pretend I was Bugs with some carrots.

Any tips for getting my cat on board with my new lifestyle?
I just switched to the keto lifestyle, but my cat keeps bringing in bread and junk! I need to love my body, what can I do to make my cat realize he is worth more than that Twinkie?

What do you all think of the Blaze?
Just curious. I'm fine with my ChargeHR but the Blaze did interest me.

Podcast recommendations?
I finally downloaded Stitcher and want some recommendations from you lovely MFP folks. The only health station I follow at the moment is Sigma Nutrition Radio, recommended on another thread a while back. The other shows I listen to are mostly about horror and new foods on shelves.

Has anyone won anything from MFPs challenges?
Well, I'm sure someone has. I'm just interested in seeing how y'all have fared. :p

Would homemade nut butters be fine with pretoasted nuts?
I made some pecan butter recently. Despite burning the raw nuts a little, it came out pretty nice. I want to try making more with something different. I bought some roasted sunflower seeds and was wondering if I could use those. While we're on the topic, post some other nut butter recipes. Making the stuff was pretty fun.…

Some new statistics involving MFP's favorite trainwreck, Dr. Oz
http://www.foxnews.com/health/2015/04/27/at-least-1000-doctors-say-dr-oz-should-resign/ Apologizes if this has already been posted. A quick search didn't bring anything about this up.

Pan Dulce
I had myself a nice little marranito today and I've been thinking about pan dulce all day. My favorite bakery is a place close to me called Tierra Caliente. What are some of your favorites? Mine are cuernitos.

Accident
I got into a bad car accident this morning and won't be able to do my usual routine for a while. Can't eat today and I don't plan on counting for at least a few days anyway. I'm switching to sedentary in the future and will switch to maintenance until I heal up and .5lb a week afterward. I'm just bored and wondering how it…

Why not? Dirty kitchens are gross. How often do you clean your kitchen and fridge? What do you use?

What's the wildest inaccuracy you've seen in an entry?
I plugged in some Pepperidge Farm gingerbread cookies, and the person who submitted the entry had input 50gr of fat for a 43gr serving!
