Why not? Dirty kitchens are gross.

How often do you clean your kitchen and fridge? What do you use?

I don't understand why there needs to be yet another thread on this argument.

Because cleaning up a kitchen that hasn't been cleaned in years isn't fun.

I loathe cleaning the fridge, but typically it totally kills my appetite in the process.

If clean = 5 second rule then I eat clean almost daily. I can be a klutz in the kitchen.

On topic: I clean my fridge and kitchen either:

when they start to gross me out

    or

obsessively, whether they need it or not.

There doesn't seem to be much of a grey area with my behavior but I'm recognizing it and adjusting accordingly.

Inside the fridge, maybe once per month. ON TOP of the fridge, that's another story....

HA! I love this. I was rolling my eyes at the title, so you got me OP.

I do eat "clean" because I am against food waste. It drives me crazy to see good fresh food go bad, so I check frequently, and plan meals based on what I have.

I keep a clean fridge,(wiped down with vinegar and paper towels, inside and out) once a week.

My pantry is dusted, products organized by type and expiration, and the labels all face forward.

I keep a huge basket of potatoes in the bottom of my pantry, and a dry goods shelf at the top with rice, popcorn kernels, dry beans and pasta.

Towards the middle I have canned goods, and right at the children's eye level I have pretzels and graham crackers for them to have as between meal snacks.

It's not. It's just another thread mocking others. SSDD.

I clean the inside of my fridge either when something spills or it looks gross. The stove, counters, sink, etc. get cleaned after each use. I am not a fan of antibacterial anything and am a big fan of plain soap and water with the occasional spray type surface cleaner to give it extra shine.

My mom almost threw up after finding moldy beans in our fridge last night. Guess it's a good reason to eat clean!

I wish I had room for one of those. Our spices are a mess, such a pain to find what I need every time.

Its funny I decided to read posts, because I finally cleaned my refrige last night and it was something in the door I had to chisel out. So has this topic been discussed before so many times that some people are sick of it? I've never seen it. Its a fresh difference to me.

Fran, don't feel too bad. I have a spice cabinet and a whole other cabinet exploding with spices and baking ingredients. Both vomit out random spices every time I open them, and I can never find anything.

I do like a clean kitchen though. Can't sleep with dirty counters or dishes in the sink.

Cleaning out moldy tupperwares is the worst thing. I just hate having to touch other people's old food in general.

Neither am I, at least not the kills 99% of germs on contact products. Mellmom's post reminded me that vinegar is still a thing I try out.

5 second rule is the best rule

Counters get cleaned as I use them.
Fridge gets cleaned as I spill things- or if I haven't gone shopping in a while and I notice there isn't a lot of stuff to move around.

My range on the other hand- that needs to be cleaned at least 2-3 times a week considering how much bacon I use- and it usually only happens once. When my BF is visiting and he does it. Because I LOATH cleaning.

    anything.

    i suck at cleaning.

    worst cleaner EVER.

I'm sure I got you beat. I hate cleaning too, and with kids and a husband sometimes it seems it's totally pointless anyway. I swear I'm always cleaning something...

I clean the kitchen every single day. Sometimes numerous times a day. I can't stand dirty counters, or floors, or dishes in the sink. However, open my cupboards or fridge and I will be mortified at how messy an unorganized they are.

My husband built me a spice drawer in our pantry which rolls out from underneath one of the shelves. It is low enough that I can see everything in it at a glance, even if I have to pull out a few jars to remind myself if they are turmeric vs curry vs some other yellowish spice. It is also just deep enough to fit in the large size spice bottles for the things I use quite a bit of, like minced onion, seasoning salt, etc. I still have spice rack on my counter, but I love my spice drawer! He also did the same thing with a bread drawer - we have a small kitchen and cabinet space is at a premium but the spice drawer and bread drawers really made a huge difference!

I don't have kids, but I live with people who only care about how clean the kitchen is when they think they see a roach. I wiped down the counter before going to bed and woke up to an empty bag of dry toast full of crumbs.

I clean out the crisper bins once a week, I throw away any fruit or vegetables that have gone bad, take the drawer out and wash it and the put the things that will be going bad in the front. If I don't do that then when we buy new vegetables something that got lost in the bottom could prematurely spoil our new produce. The other shelves and the condiment area only get cleaned maybe once a month. The hoosier/dry goods pantry never gets cleaned. I just put new containers towards the back when we start to run out of something and keep it stocked.

I don't really clean the counters or the tabletop as often as I used to, maybe just a few times a week, but I never put anything directly on them anyway. I only remember to mop the floor when we break something.

I have at least 3 jars of chili flakes because I can never find them and keep buying more! Lol I also recently discovered I have 3 open rolls of aluminum foil.. That's gonna last me awhile.

I'm a little OCD about cleaning the kitchen - 3 times a day, no dishes are to be left after each meal.
The fridge grosses me out. I clean it 2 times a week with hot water and detol.

I'm abit weird about my spices too. I have a tray full of them, I keep a note stuck to my larder door with a list of what I have. Hate when I find 3 tubs of something all opened and all nearly out of date....

So yeah I'm a clean eater..

When I was a student teacher my mentor kept a jar of peanut butter and a spoon in her top drawer all year. The spoon was never washed. She credited eating peanut butter off that dirty spoon every day with the fact that she never got sick.

My kitchen is pretty clean, but I do have a few kitchen problems. I have a tendency to open a drawer or cabinet and leave it open for a few hours (or before I go back into the kitchen). I also clean dishes as I use them, but I put them in the dishwasher to dry. Needless to say, they end up staying in the dishwasher until there are almost no utensils to be found anywhere but in the dishwasher. But I don't actually use the dishwasher.
