Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's 5000 calorie a day diet
Just read that Johnson eats 5000 calories a day and it seems he only does cardio for an hour and weights for 90 minutes. http://news.yahoo.com/dwayne-rock-johnsons-5000-calorie-185100320.html How the frick is he not a blob? I mean I expected that he'd being eating more calories than normal but 5000? During a bulking cycle…

Whats your favorite go-to treat? Your indulgence? The food you just don't care if it fits your calories. I love me some sushi.

Infrared Therapy Sauna Question
I took a tour of a new gym. In addition to the free weights, weight machines, and cardio machines, they had Infrared Therapy Saunas which, in addition to other claimed benefits, is supposed to burn calories. Never heard of that machine or claim before. Any credibility to that or should I not waste my time and just stick to…

ETA: Edited To Add
Some people say "Edit: ..." Others use the acronym ETA. It means, "Edited To Add." It probably doesn't mean the following when you see it in someone's post: - Estimated Time of Arrival - Expected Time of Arrival - Egyptian Tourist Authority - Extraterrestrial Artifact

Katie Couric's Fed Up
I just watched Fed Up. It is streaming on Netflix. The documentary seems to discount CICO. Instead it advocates sugar avoidance. While I didn't disagree with avoiding sugar, as I have found when I do, I get to consume more food and fewer calories all at the same time. It did rub me the wrong way when it said calorie…

It's a continuum fallacy, also known as a fallacy of the beard, fallacy of the heap, or in this case fallacy of the fat. The argument against this…

I just did a triple take.
It has taken 4.5 months. But I've finally lost 40 pounds. More importantly, I have finally arrived in One-derland. Today the scale read 199.4 pounds. I was in shock. I had to re-weigh myself 2 more times to believe it. I had been in the 200-205 range for what feels like forever. I know it's just a number, but you know…

Losing weight but body fat percentage is going up?
Admittedly I'm using a Fitbit Aria scale. Each morning I weight myself and I've been watching both my weight and body fat percentage go down. There's a lot of fluctuation, but the overal trend was downward. But now recently in the last two weeks or so my weight has continued on trend but my body fat percentage has either…

Making a SMART Goal -Arm Size
A SMART goal is specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time-based. With that in mind, I need some help with the time-based aspect. I'd like to know about how long I should expect to gain weight. Specifically, about how long does it take to increase arm size? Is it reasonable to expect a one-inch increase in…

Health, fitness, nutrition news sites?
I've been checking news.yahoo.com/health but I'd prefer a news site dedicated to health news. Any suggestions?
