Ideal BMI / weight for runners
I found this formula for ideal running weight. http://www.runningshoesguru.com/2014/11/a-formula-to-calculate-your-ideal-running-weight/ Quote: Hold out your right hand in front on you. Using the index finger and thumb of your left hand, wrap these fingers around your right wrist. If the fingers touch but don’t overlap,…

Don't wait around for motivation... Just do it! (And other tips from losing 70 lbs.)
Don't wait around for motivation... Just do it! That's my motto. Motivation isn't a blinding flash of light that fixes everything. You'll always have some negative thoughts that need challenging. Don't believe everything you think! Just thought I'd share some of the rationale behind my 70 lb weight loss in the past 11…

After 5K
I joined this group after finishing C25K, so I could train for 10K. I started using the Zen Labs 10K app, continuing from where you finish 5K. But the 10K app seems to build miles too quickly. I went from a 35 minute 5K in the first app, to 3 x 15 minutes (45 minutes of running) in the first week of the 10K app. And this…

What are your fitness goals?
What are your fitness goals? I'll be bold. You're not going to achieve them if you don't agree with the majority of this: http://www.bodyforwife.com/achieving-fitness-with-patience-planning-and-persistance/ (It's really really good and I really want you to read it.) Kudos if you've been setting and achieving fitness goals…

Negative adjustments not being made
Not sure if this is a Fitbit or MFP problem. A few days ago, MFP stopped making negative adjustments. I can see the option is enabled on the website, but it's not being calculated. Anyone else found the solution to this?

6 months progress pics!
I started using My Fitness Pal on April 11, 2015. Today is my 6 month anniversary, so I took a new progress pic comparing myself to when I began by wearing the same clothes. I had to hold the skirt up or it would fall off! In these 6 months, I've lost 21 kgs, made some lovely friends, fallen in love with exercise, and am…

Thanks, Fitbit Customer Service!
How do you find Fitbit's customer service? I've had my Fitbit Charge HR since October 4 2015, and it has had two bits of the rubber come loose recently: I emailed Fitbit customer service, and supplied the details they were after such as receipt, photo, model, place of purchase etc. They replied to me that they are sending…

"How to pig out and not gain weight during the holidays"
I love James Fell, and feel I must share this. HOW TO PIG OUT AND NOT GAIN WEIGHT DURING THE HOLIDAYS http://www.bodyforwife.com/how-to-pig-out-and-not-gain-weight-during-the-holidays/ The clincher: "I will pig out this holiday season. I mean Christmas. Don’t want people accusing me being on the wrong side of the war on…

C25K completed. When to transition to running 4 days a week?
I've been walking a lot this year (currently averaging 17,000 steps a day), and I started running in September. I completed Couch to 5K on December 5th, and today was able to run 6 km without stopping. My goals are to improve my Saturday parkrun (5km) times, and to run 10km by my 49th birthday in February. I've come across…

I ran over 4 km today!
Did parkrun this morning and did my best ever. I ran the first 4 km without stopping before my body said "nope", then I walked a bit, then ran the last half km. I beat my PB by 2 minutes 43 seconds! In a time of 38:07. (Age grading 42.94%) Getting there! Maybe next week the full 5 km. (I started running on September 22,…

Charge HR now creating "Walk" exercise entries
For the past two days my Fitbit Charge HR has been doing something new. When I go for a walk, it creates a new "Walk" exercise entry in Fitbit without me pressing any buttons on my Fitbit or phone app. It's not really a problem. I just thought I'd mention it in case anyone else wanted to comment on the feature.

I did it! I ran 5k!
I ran the full 5k at parkrun this morning! So happy! C25K works! I started running 10 weeks ago, but took 2 weeks off due to a sore hip. I've been doing 5k parkruns on Saturdays (walking/running) and C25K two days during the week. I made it! Thanks Dee and members for this group and its support and encouragement!

Charge HR & MFP - how to log swimming?
I'm thinking of doing swimming soon, but I've never logged any exercise manually in either Fitbit or MFP. Any tips? Does it matter when you enter the data? Which one do I use, and how?

C25K, W7, D3 (Week 7, Day 3)
Warmup. Run 25 minutes without stopping. Cool down. I did it! Personal best! It was supposed to be 20 minutes but I somehow skipped ahead 2 weeks on my app and I played the wrong day, W7D3 instead of W5D3, and still just kept running just because I could!
