What are the average miles per day I should be striving to achieve?
I'm a new cyclist (fixed gear) I've been going hard my first week, now my knees hurt. I want to become more than an amateur cyclist, I want to be fit, become lean, and get down to a low body fat % of 15% or less.

Weight is going up, inches going down--except these hips & thighs they're growing
All I've done is cycle daily for 12 days now. I cut it down to 6 times a week. Initially I lost weight, now its creeping back up. Afraid to stop my new daily cardio routine. *I enjoy it, its fun!
For over a week straight I've been going hard with my cardio burning over 1000 calories daily. I am afraid to stop. Am I going to hard? I wish to lean out, and I'm eating clean, no junk. I plan on joining the gym on payday for the weights, otherwise I cycle for my cardio on my fixie. Any input? Thx.
