Your Self Discipline Muscle
I'm sharing this from my job that was shared with me. It made me think so I thought it might do the same for a few others. I have observed through the years that there is a correlation between physical exercise and performance. My hypothesis on this is not only that exercise develops our strength, stamina, self-esteem, and…

Realistic goal
I just found out that Disney is adding a 10K to Princess weekend next year. I am a walker at best and don't really have a desire to walk. I'm thinking of doing the 10k + the 1/2 (Saturday/Sunday). Is this a completely unrealistic goal? I won't be running - race/speed walking at best if I can learn how. To help with any…

Gym membership.....necessary?
I currently have a gym membership and am struggling to get to the gym. I have a treadmill at home and a new bike that I'm enjoying a lot. My dilemma is not getting in the cardio. I've lost a decent amount already and have lots more to lose. I need some muscle to help me burn even when not exercising. I assuming I need to…

How do I increase calorie burn?
How do people burn 3000+ calories a day? How to they burn even 2000? Typically I do my treadmill (which I have increase pace) in the morning and then either bike or elliptical in gym in afternoon. Total workout time is typically 75-90 minutes and my calorie burn is still only around 500. I need to burn more than this but…

Advice please.......
I am doing 5K's as way to keep myself motivated and kind of have an idea if I'm improving. I am a walker and have no desire to be a runner as I am 55 and typically not all that athletic. I'm only 5'4" and currently walk at about 3 mph consistently. Obviously based on that I get 5K done in an hour. I have a 5K on Friday and…

So is this a good thing?
Okay I do mostly cardio and have noticed lately that my calorie burn seems to be decreasing even though duration isn't decreasing. Now before you ask, my calorie burn is based on Polar FT7 readings that does have all my personal info. I assumed as the weight goes down the calorie burn does as well. Does it also have to do…

Diabetic help
I've been on here for little over 2 months and am doing well. My questions is about being diabetic. My DH is diabetic and due to job cannot take insulin. He has been told he can get off meds if he gets sugar in check. The big problem is he has an incredible sweet tooth. Can anyone make any suggestions on ways I can make…

Sodium / Potassium
Did I read somewhere on here about the level of potassium intake in relation to sodium in order to help flush out the sodium? I am trying to reach a balance and was just curious. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

HRM / Pedometer
Okay, I'm asking advice. I keep seeing everyone mention how many steps in a day and using HRM and really think one or other or both could be beneficial to me. I know I do have a high heart rate. If you were to suggest one or the other, which would you recommend? Is there a good(affordable) brand out there that does both?…

Fitbit
Is anyone out there using a Fitbit. I'm considering getting one as I'm not all that confident in a normal pedometer. I considered HRM but don't know if that is enough. I just want an accurate way to track heart rate and calorie burn. Any help would be great. Thanks
