Longer-term couch to 5k idea. Thoughts?
So I've lost 60 pounds but C25K is still something I just can't seem to get through. I even built up to it before the last try. So I'm going to try a 6 month(ish) version. Using traditional C25K 9 week plan I will do Week 1 for 5 weeks Week 2 for 4 weeks Week 3 for 3 weeks Week 4 for 2 weeks Week 5 and on one week each…

Making progress but need tips on running
I've tried and failed at C25K and now I have a believe-it-or-not easier program I'm sticking too. I've gone for a couple runs outside which for my 285 pound self is a big NSV. Anyways, I got fitted for some running shoes I can't afford just yet, but since I'm progressing well I intend to run/walk a 5k in the next couple…

Reliable scale advice
So I'm beginning to think unless I shell out more than $75 I can't get a scale that will last me for more than three months. Anyone know an inexpensive, reliable scale that won't crap out super fast on me? Thank God for the one at my gym, but I'd like a nice one at home. I weigh 294 btw if that matters.

Yet another C25K alternative, I think I can do this
So I got fitted for running shoes recently (can't afford them, but at least now I know) and the store had a handout on how to get started. One plan was C25K, which proved a bit ambitious for me. This was the other....and the one I am starting today. Plan 1: Features 30 minutes of exercise for the first 30 days. 1. Walk out…

Who knows about core stuff?
So I've lost nearly 50 pounds thanks to MFP and the support of my wife, and now I think I'm almost ready to do more than just cardio. I used to wrestle in high school so I know my way around the weight room, but now I see people say those weights/machines aren't important and I need to do core workouts... Due respect, I…

My knee hates me. Seeking C25k advice
So I've tried C25k twice now. Both times I spent a couple weeks walking and rebuilding up my leg strength before doing week 1. Week 1 goes ok, week 2 goes ok. But both times by week three my right knee just will NOT handle it and anything besides walking is a no-go. I also got shin splints the first time. I love the…
