Recovering from repetitive stress injury of the hands/arms
Due to my job - I have spent the summer recovering from multiple repetitive stress injuries in my hands and arms. Now - I want to get back to working out, but I don't know where to start. Any suggestions? Thank you for your help.

Blogilates 90 Day Challenge
Today is my first day of the Blogilates 90 Day Clean Eating Challenge. Eating the same thing for 90 days sounds painful, but I've gotten so off track that I need this to get my butt into gear. I just need something to tell me - hey, you can only eat this. It's simple enough that I hope to be successful. It is combined with…

Eff Your Beauty Standards....?
So. I'm bracing to be attacked on this one... but there is a movement going on and I just need to discuss this. And it is Saturday, so maybe this will get ignored. There is a difference between embracing your curves and obesity. I feel like we are facing an obesity epidemic not only in the US, but around the world. And…

JM 30 Day Shred Results! *First success post!*
I did it! I never thought I would do it, but I did it! From July 2nd-Aug 22nd I shredded my butt off. Yes, it took me longer than 30 days, but thinking I could do it for 30 days straight was excessively ambitious (the body needs time to rest and recover). I'm so glad I took progress pictures because they are BLOWING MY…

Running Playlist Ideas Needed!
I grow tired of my two playlists I've created and am training for a half marathon, so I need some new stuff to get me pumped! What's on your running/work out playlist? I'm sure there are many of these topics, but I wanted some fresh ideas. Thanks, all!

NSV: Wedding ring is almost falling off
...which is awesome! And bad. Because I don't want to lose my ring. I'm glad it's no longer tight like it was getting. It's winter and I know that makes it a bit more loose, but prior to the cold weather, it was loose. How long should I wait to get it resized? I'm only almost 25% to my goal... so I have a long way to go.…

Oreos are as addictive as cocaine.
Interesting article about a recent study done on lab rats. I personally find that I'm addicted or "conditioned" to chocolate, but I know this theory is rejected all over the place. Chocolate brings me happy pleasure and I want more. I can tell you my body goes through withdrawal if it does not get chocolate; I get shakes…

Calculating mileage when running indoors?
I use RunKeeper when outside, Nike + Running app when inside. I trust the mileage RunKeeper gives me because it bases it upon GPS, which I figure as long as my GPS signal is strong -- should be quite close to accurate. The dreaded inside running that goes along with winter (blech) has started. Last night my Nike+ app…

Transitioning outdoor running to indoors
Since July I have been running outside multiple times a week. Sadly my time with the sun is fading as the days get shorter. I get home between 6 and 6:30 depending on the week. After caring for my animals and having dinner myself and preparing to go out running, it is already nearing 8 PM... and the sun is already very low…

10K Training Plan - Question
I graduated from the Couch to 5K program this week ::pats self on back:: and I'm ready for more! I'm ultimately training for a half marathon (next May), but baby steps... ...the only problem is -- I never made it to a 5K in the program. I did run a 5K for Color Me Rad, all the way through, so I know that I am capable of…

Plank Twists
WHAT ARE THESE DEMON MOVES?!?!? Just kidding. But also let's throw in the walk-out push ups. And pretty much all of level 2 -- has anyone survived the full 10 days in this level? I'm on day 4 tonight and I have to stop to prevent myself from dying (less and less as the days go on).

How much water do I need?
I found a really cool app called 'WaterMinder' for iOS today and wanted to share. Instead of following the 8 glasses of 8oz water per day gospel -- it takes your weight into account and tells you how much you need based on how much you weigh. By this it says 1/2 oz water per pound of body weight (I'm 241 pounds, it says I…

Starting Ripped in 30 -- What to expect?
I am finishing the 30 Day Shred tonight and starting Ripped in 30 tomorrow. I have a love/hate relationship with Jillian as most people do. These are my thoughts on the shred... Level 1 of the shred pushed me to places I never imagined; Level 2 almost killed me, still not sure how I survived; I loved Level 3. I remember a…

TDEE-20% and Weight Gain
Okay. I've been at this for almost 2 months now -- I've lost 13 pounds -- but I would really like to eat more. MFP has me at an intake of 1320/day now and this is just almost too low. I've read a lot in the forums about TDEE and meeting your nutrient goals and I now understand how it works. Because of my rather disordered…

Food ideas for one?
Helpppppp meeeeee. I'm tired of microwave madness and rely wayyyy too much on my husband for my meals. So far in my weight loss journey it is to the microwave for me. With assorted microwaveables of the Lean/Smart/Amys/etc. variety. I like the portion control and low cal parts, but I'm getting bored of the blah food.…

Body fat calculator?
I use this (http://www.livestrong.com/tools/body-fat-calculator/) body fat calculator because I don't have calipers or a gym where they would take measurements -- it is also the only calculator that didn't put me at like 28% body fat (which there is no way that can be true). As of today I lost 2% of the last number it gave…

Dehydrated?
I have been at this for about a month now and have gradually tried to increase my water intake -- I am averaging 12-15 glasses a day -- which is pretty reasonable since I am exercising daily and weigh 249 pounds. Does it just take time? I feel like I am still not getting enough water and my lips are always dry. This is…

Starting Level 2 early?
I'm on L1D6 today (about to go do it) -- so far I've only missed one day of the program. I feel like it is getting easier, but I wanted to do it the way it was planned. What is gained from advancing early and what is lost by not staying the full 10 days in each level? Just joined -- Glad I found this group. I loveeee the…

Weights for 30 Day Shred?
I am on D9L1 of the 30 Day Shred and I have been using 5lb weights since the first day. Some days I struggle, but I think it will be worth it in the end. What size weights are typically used? The DVD didn't really tell me, I own 3s and 5s, so I went with the 5s. **Edit: I use 5s, not 3s. Typo. Whoops.**

Where are the people in their 20s?
New to MyFitnessPal's system, but I'm liking it so far. I did Weight Watchers for awhile, but I got tired of paying for the tools - too expensive when I didn't use them as much as I should. Gah. I'm turning 25 next week... Eegh. Ha. I'm looking for friends in the community to encourage me along my weight loss journey. I…

AHHHHH!!! I NEED MY FRIENDS!!!
This outage is taking a toll. I've thought of so many things to share and say on my newsfeed and then I realized I couldn't and then I was all sad. I hope everyone is doing well today! People -- encourage me to go exercise -- or else I will be lazy because I'm helpless without friends. Not really, I'm going to go now. But…

I wanted to share something I found today
I always curious as to how many calories I burn doing strength exercises - I realize that is not the point of them, but it is nice to be able to track them. Today I found this website: http://www.fitclick.com/how_many_calories_burned You put in the exercise you did, how much you weigh and how long you did it for. And…

Heart Rate Monitor?
Just asked my husband if I could get a heart rate monitor for my birthday. I'm in this. Haha. I really want one to know accurate calories I'm burning and where my heart rate is getting to and whatever other fun things they track... I know the Polar brand is really good -- or at least it's the one I most commonly see on my…

What would a healthy weight be for me?
I have struggled with this. I watch weight loss shows and see HUGE people that weigh less than I do. I guess you don't know their height on those shows, but I always find it odd. I've even looked around here and have seen people who are bigger and weigh less! What gives!? And what should I be aiming for? Weight: 252…
