Delete Duplicate and Incorrect Foods
The number of duplicate and incorrect entries across all food types is staggering, and the problem continues to build, making it more and more difficult to log food accurately. It would be great if MFP would make moderating and/or cleaning up duplicate and incorrect food entries using an algorithm a priority.

The Barcode Thing
So, I think this is more about principle. Whether you use the barcode scanner or not, think about the fact that the owners of MFP are willing to take away functionality for people who are trying to be healthy and lose weight. What does that say about their priorities? Do you want to keep supporting a company like that? If…

Mackie Nutrition Scale?
I came across this scale while looking for something that I could bring on the road with me: https://www.mackiescientific.com/ Has anyone used this before? It looks like it has it's own food database plus you can add your own foods and recipes. I know that free apps can do the same, but the nice thing about this being in a…

DEXA Scan Experience
I am a 38-year-old female, 5' 5", weighing between 119-123 at any given time of day. For years I have been using MFP to lose weight gradually (I mean VERY gradually, 0.5lb to 1lb per year) with the goal of being healthy and making lifestyle changes. (If you want more details on my process, see my post about it on Quora)…

Maintaining Weight and Protein Amounts
Hi, I am female, 38yo, 5 foot 5 (65 inches or 165cm), 123 pounds (55.7kg or 8.7 stone). I exercise a "light" or "moderate" amount: 10,000 steps/3 miles walked at least 3 days per week, weight lifting 3 days per week but only for 15-30 minutes, plus regular activities like cleaning or gardening. A registered dietitian…

Free Dietitian Consults at Hy-Vee
Hi! I don't usually post in the discussions but wanted to share that Hy-Vee has dietitians on site--seriously, certified dietitians--who will give you a consultation for FREE. Here is the link: https://www.hy-vee.com/health/hy-vee-dietitians/default.aspx I have been self-guided with calorie counting using MFP for many…

Fit3D Body Scan Pre- and Post-covid
The last time I went to the gym was December 2019. At that time I did a Fit3D body scan because it was part of our sign-on package. Today I went back to the gym for the first time since covid and thought, wouldn’t it be interesting to get another scan and see what has changed in a year and a half! In the second pic you can…

Protein Advice
Hi everyone! I'm hoping someone can help me with a recent diet change. About a month or two ago I switched my macros from the MFP standard (50/30/20) to 40/30/30, after finding that I was often hungry and lacking energy at work. I thought upping the protein might help. I work at a kennel, my job is to take dogs to and from…

8 x 7 NSV
It's not much, actually it's nothing, but let me post anyway :P This year I've been working on a traveling tour, living in an 8 x 7 room (see my blog). I don't have a scale because it wouldn't be accurate when one lives on a moving vehicle, and I haven't checked my weight or dimensions since getting here eight months ago.…

THIS can't really burn THAT many calories...!
Hi mfp! I was hoping to get some opinions on this from musicians and non-musicians. I'm a trombonist currently playing on tour. The show I'm in is two hours long with a 15 minute intermission. I'm standing the entire time, and play constantly for the whole two hours. Now according to MFP and many other fitness sites, a…

Hiking vs. Walking and how to log it
Hi MFP! I've done a great deal of googling on this subject recently, as going for very long walks..or hikes...or whatever....is one of my favorite activities. Today I did a 5k hike/walk/thing which took about two hours, so I figure I was moving at around 3 mph. The trail had some decent inclines, twists and turns,…

Rant Against Ignorant Advice
Sorry if this is the wrong place for this...just gotta get it off my chest. First of all, where do people get off giving fitness, health, and food advice to other people based on a - what they've heard Word Of Mouth from others b - Google c - their own experiences with their own body ...all of which are bound to be…

Judge me, go ahead!
2nd time posting this, hoping to get some feedback...please? My food diary is now OPEN. Take a look! I've been doing mfp for about 3-4 weeks now. I am STARVING most of the time at work (an office job where I sit and do nothing). At first, I thought this was because I was bored. So I started eating green beans, carrots, and…

You've heard it before: hungry & tired
Hi! I'm sure many people have asked about this, so sorry for the rehash, but I am just fed up with feeling this way and would like to gather some opinions! I've been doing mfp for about 3-4 weeks now. I am STARVING most of the time at work (an office job where I sit and do nothing). At first, I thought this was because I…
