Jillian Michaels Body Revolution
Has anyone done this? I bought it a few years and never got up to phase 3 except for now. I'm currently on workouts 9 & 10 and I am pretty amazed at my progress. I've done the 30 Day Shred and Ripped in 30, and never made it to the end, so I'm shocked that I'm almost to the end of this 90 day program. Though I must admit…

Cross Country Skiing
I am having a major bout of cabin fever and it's suppose to snow AGAIN this Saturday, so I have decided to grab my 16 years old "I'm so bored" stepgrand son who lives with us and try cross country skiing. I'm in Chicago and there is a place near the lake that rents the skiis for $5.00. I got inspired by watching the…

Surviving Super Bowl Sunday
Our house is usually the destination for the Super Bowl. The way we usually get out of not having a Super Bowl party ourselves is to go to someone else's party. we did not plan on going anywhere or having anyone over this year. So last night I find out that one of my husband's best friends is coming by tomorrow to watch…

Jump Start Diets
I'm slowly losing the holiday weight I gained (3.5 lbs), and when I say slowly I mean less than .5 lbs per week since the first week in january. I've upped my activity and am staying within my caloric limit. I am getting stronger, but was wondering if anyone has ever done any of those "Jump Start/Kick Start" diets. They…

Ripped In 30 January 2014!
Hi, I just reecently finshed my second time doing Jillian Michael's Ripped in 30 and I think that it kept be from total holiday blow-up Thanksgiving through New Year's. I did not lose during that period, but my gain was minimal (2lbs) and I did not deprive myself over the holidays. The first time I did Ripped in 30 I lost…

One new seasonal offering is their "Smart Fit Salad" it has Kale, romaine, avocado, corn black beans, roasted sweet potato and while balsamic vinaigrette. It sounded amazing and for the…

What DVD's are considered HIIT work-outs?
I hear a lot about High Intensity Interval Training and not sure what makes a workout fall under this category. Can anyone give me an example(s) of work out programs that are HIIT? Also, what makes it different fromcircuit training?

I knew road food was bad, but it's really really bad
My husband and I took a road trip from Chicago to St. Louis this past weekend, leaving on Friday and getting back late Sunday afternoon. We had to attend a funeral and while there went to my cousin's new BBQ and Blues restaurant. Now, between road food (I'm too ashamed to even mention where my husband wanted to stop and…

Walking a dog at 3 miles an hour
I don't have a dog. Is it just me, or do you just log 2.5 mph or 3.5 mph just so you don't have to field questions like, :"When did youy get a dog?"

Really Big Zumba Gal
I was just in Charleston, SC thsi weekend attending a music festival that my company was putting on. That morning we had all of the area Zumba instrutors show up for a big Zumba party and dance to kick-off the event. It really got everybody going. What caught my eye, and everyone elses I'm sure, was this one woman, who had…

Just because you didn't post it . . . .
Just because you didn't post it, does not mean you didn't eat it! I have to keep reminding myself this beacuse I sometimes "forget" to post things I consumed, such as those occasional after work cocktails and those delicious cupcakes that were brought in for a co-worker's birthday.

30 Day Shred Drop Outs
I am on my second attempt with the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. I am about 2/3 of the way through and am taking breaks every 4-5 days, so I am not doing it 30 days straight. The first time it aggravated my lower back and I had knee pain and had to stop. This time I had decided that I would listen to my body more and take…

How reliable is the nutritional info on MFP?
I've seen some questionable numbers in nutritional information when recording my meals. For instance, a 6oz pork chop bought at Costco equals 190 calories, but if I look up a brolied 6oz pork chop it comes up at 500 calories. How can I add 310 calories to a pork chop by just broiling it? I could understand if it were fired…

Sodium - Thou are NOT My Pal
This morning really left me scratching my head. I was 2 lbs down on Saturday and was celebrating the fact that I finally seemed to have broken through this seemingly never ending plateau. I did not record the loss because I wanted to make sure that I could maintain the weight for a few days. I jumped on the scale this…

My food choices have officially shifted!
I've been on MFP for about 5 months (lost about 14) and have been consciously exercising and watching what I eat for about 9 months (lost about 30 lbs total since last April). After a very long and grueling week in which I exercised and diligently and stayed very close to my daily caloric allotment, I woke up on Sunday…

BMR and Exercise Calories
I'm sure this has been addressed before but . . when posting your exercises do you subtract or adjust your BMR calories from the number ? For instance, my BMR calories for the day is 1409 or approx 58 calories per hour if I were laying around doing nothing (according to the MFP BMR calculator). So say if I run for an hour…
