Frustrated and Confused
Hey everyone! I've been on MFP for a while now and have learned a lot by reading all the forum posts. But now I'm completely stuck. I started out as 5'6 and 238, and now stand at 187. I've tried various levels of calories and found that the only time I don't GAIN is if I keep it at 1200 a day. I do cardio 5-6 days a week,…

Plateaued for A Month
So I've been stuck in the 170s for a few months now, slowly losing .2 here and .8 there. I recently upped my calories to 1400 a day, but still not seeing results. I work out about 60-80 mins 6 days a week, including weight training. Starting Weight: 238 Current Weight: 173 Height: 5'6 Net Calories: 1400 BMR: 1536 TDEE:…

43 Pounds Down, 55 More to Go
So this is my latest progress picture. The one of the left was taken on Mother's Day, the one on the right on Thanksgiving. My starting weight was 238 pounds and my weight now is 195. :) A long way to still go, but I'm happy with the progress so far!

Gluten Free: The Way to Be?
I know this topic has been posted a million times, but I'm asking anyway as I can't find the information I'm looking for. So I was diagnosed about 5 years ago with PCOS and my doctor told me to lay off the gluten. I ignored this advice and am now at the 80 pounds heavier than my body type suggests. A friend of mine also…

NSV This morning!
So I was in the elevator at work and they are all mirrors. I looked at it and said to my friend "I wish I looked like I do in the elevator. I look skinny". She looked at me and said "You do look like that. If anything, the mirror makes you look slightly heavier." YAY!

Heart Rate Monitors
Does anyone know where to get a simple heart rate monitor that won't break my bank account? (under $50 preferably)

30 Days on MFP, Down 21 Pounds
I don't know if you can really tell yet, but I was excited! http://i1053.photobucket.com/albums/s466/iheartsparkle/photo3.jpg And apparently I don't know how to post pics, even with the help topic. :)

Seeing Loss on the Scale
Okay, so don't judge me, but I have a bet with my mother to see who can lose the most weight by August 5. She doesn't think the BMR/TDEE way of weight loss is correct, so she is 172 pounds and eats about 1000-1200 calories a day, while I eat my BMR of 1798. We both exercise more or less the same amount, but my diet is more…

Help! So Confused!
My goal is to lose 82 pounds by this time next year, or sooner. I've been on numerous websites that all tell me my calories need to be between 1100 and 2700 a day. I don't understand this at all!!! My boyfriend also says I need to be at 1800, but that seems so high. Can you guys help me understand this? I know for basic…

Weight Loss Goals for Motivation
I wanted to post a discussion about this because I am sure I am not the only one using material things as motivation for weight loss. It is not my reason for doing this lifestyle change (I need to be healthy more than anything!) but use these to keep me from putting that piece of candy in my mouth when I am being heavily…

Sticking to It
I always have the same issue when it comes to weight loss. I do really well for the first ten days, but then give into old habits and completely disregard the progress I've made. I've never actually stuck to a diet plan in my adult life. I know this is more of a lifestyle change and that it should be done in order to live…

27 But Eat Like a 5 Year Old.
I grew up with horrible eating habits that have translated into my adult life. I had issues with my weight in high school, then got down to a healthy weight in my early 20s. Now, I seem to have gotten into a tough spot with my weight. I rarely stay on track and give up easily, but I want this to work out this time. Can…
