Tortilla-less Quesadilla
So last night I made what I'm going to start calling a "tortilla-less quesadilla"!! I used parchment paper as the tortilla (to get the shape and keep the cheese from sticking everywhere), filled it with cheese, chicken, and jalapenos, then heated in a pan. My boyfriend said it was weird that I was eating a "quesadilla"…

Keto Definition Question
What amount of carbs counts as Keto? I've seen some people/sites say 5% of daily calories, and others say 20g net regardless of calories. Depending on calories needs using a percentage could be very different from a set number. 5% of 2000 is 100g, which is a huge difference from the 20g. Just curious. Thanks!!

Another Training Question
So I know that on a LCHF diet, your body utilizes body fat for fuel when calories are too low to completely fulfill your needs. My question is: does this still apply under intense training (I'm about three weeks from my first marathon of the season)? My runs have been suffering lately from lack of energy and difficulty…

LCHF and Distance Training
I know a few others in this group are also runners, so I'm curious if anyone has similar experiences or suggestions. I've been doing LCHF for about 7 weeks. My speed days and 10 milers or less feel great! But on Saturday I did 12 miles. I pre-fueled with black coffee and broth (caffeine and sodium) and added a little salt…

Snack Ideas?
I looked back through a few pages, and couldn't find an existing post (and not sure how to search within this group), so forgive me if it's already been asked a million times. But! What do you snack on? I'm kinda kinda bored with cheese, pecans, and black olives.

Sushi
My boyfriend and I LOVE sushi!! I do enjoy sashimi (just slices of fish). But I'm wondering, would it be rude to ask for a roll without the rice? Has anyone else tried this, or do you just order a bunch of sashimi?

Deadlift Stall
I've been doing SL 5x5 off and on for about 6 months. The lastest "on" has been going steady for 5 weeks now. My squats are progressing nicely; currently at 165 and able to increase as recommended. However, my deadlift are a struggle; I'm stuck at 135 and struggle to complete the one set. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Coincidence? Or Correlation?
I had the absolute hardest time getting out of bed this morning! My body didn't wanna move, my eyes felt heavy/puffy, and my brain wasn't firing. Coffee didn't help. My blue happy light didn't help. Then I realized I've been around 3800mg of sodium for the last two days. So I drank half a serving of my Ketoade and almost…

Low Carb Distance Running
Does anyone eat low carb while training for Long Distances, like full marathons? I've always been scared that it would negatively impact my running performance, but decided to try it during my "off season". It's helped a ton with hunger/cravings and weight management. Just curious how it might effect my running as I get my…

Is my goal realistic?
So I'm heading into my fourth year of running. I did my first full marathon in 2015 and finished in 6:15. Did the same race a year later and finished in 4:35. I'm thinking ahead to this next training cycle and I'm thinking of shooting for a marathon with similar terrain in 4:00. The my next goal would be to get down to…

Macros During Training
What are your macros during training? Do you have an extra emphasis on protein? Is it bad if I get less than 100g protein a day?

Eating by hunger
I'd eventually like to be able to listen to my body for hunger ques, and I've been trying to practice that as I've lost. Now that I'm nearing goal and slowly increasing my calories, I'm trying to be more aware of my natural hunger ques. Thing is: I get full half way through my meal. I'm scared that if I eat less than what…

Squat Alternatives
I've been trying to increase the amount I can lift on squats, but by gym only has two squat racks. So if those are taken, I've been using the incline leg press. Question is: Is this an appropriate alternative? Would I be better off using the Smith machine? What is the weight equivalent; I can do 100# with the squat rack,…

Carb Loading
I found an article that says for three days leading up to a race, your macros should be 4g carbs per pound of body weight, 0.8g protein per pound of body weight, and as little fat as possible. This seems like a TON of food! So my question is; how do you carb load? Which foods do you use to get as many carbs as possible…

Gatorade Type Products
I know workout nutrition is different for everyone, but at what point do you drink more than just water during a workout? I've been having some issues with lightheaded/dizziness, and someone suggested Gatorade, but I thought that was only needed for longer workouts, like over an hour. Going to give it a try, but would like…

Surprised by New/Positive Cravings
Since I've started focusing on my diet, I've learned that I absolutely love brussels sprouts! And now I'm craving them for dinner tonight. Has anyone else started getting cravings for "healthy" stuff that you're surprised by?

Winter Sucks!
I hate winter! I'm pretty sure I have a touch of Seasonal Affective Disorder. It becomes insanely difficult for me to get out of bed in the morning (during the summer I got up at 4:30 to run, and it was awesome). And as it gets dark in the evening I get sleepy even though it's only 4 pm. How do you make it through the…

Not Hungry
Lately I just don't feel the usual sensation of hunger. So I end up not eating until I'm weak/shaky from low blood sugar, but even then I don't eat much before I feel full (usually ends up around 50-100 calories of veggies). The one thing I know is different, is I've only been eating veggies and beans for the last week. I…

Post Race Letdown/Depression
Has anyone ever experienced post race letdown or depression? If so, what did it feel like for you, and how did you overcome it? I've been clinically depressed before, and this doesn't feel like that did. Last year I ran my first half marathon and afterwards I got lazy, but I don't remember feeling depressed or down in…

Running Taper
I'm training for my first full marathon and am entering the taper phase (race is in two weeks). Does anyone have suggestions for how to go about this? I have a plan with the suggested mileage, but can I do other activities, like cross training or aerobics? I'm concerned about continuing to lose weight during this time as I…

Poo and Running
At least once a week, my run is thwarted by the intense urge to poo. Usually I go before I leave the house, but still within the first mile, I urgently have to go again, and it doesn't subside. Which usually leads to me cutting my run short to get back home. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to handle this? Is there…
