PCOS pals :)
Hi guys, I'm new to this group and would love to add some friends who're also dealing with PCOS. I was diagnosed at 24 and my weight has fluctuated like crazy over the past 5 years. I'd really like to make (and stick to) some lifestyle changes this time around. A little about me: I'm 29, in grad school, and I have a cute…

Food ideas - meat free, low carb, nut free
Hi all, I'm really struggling with food options for work. I work at a private Jewish school that has a kosher policy, meaning I can't bring any meat from home or anything else considered not kosher (including shrimp). The school recently went nut-free due to allergy concerns. Because I have PCOS, I feel healthiest and lose…

Increasing calories - but I'm scared!
Hi all! After listening to all the wisdom on this board, I decided to use the TDEE method of determining calories. I'm 5'5" and now weigh 210 lbs, and MFP was telling me to eat around 1350 calories. I never had much of problem staying within my calories, and on days when I worked out (most days) I would sometimes eat more,…

New jeans!
Y'all, today I went and tried on jeans because I had a suspicion I was going to fit in a smaller size... Well, I was right! I found a pair of size 14s that fit like a glove (some of the 14s were still too tight, but I'm focusing on the positive  )! It was a huge moment of triumph for me, since I started at a size 18…

Foot pain with athletic shoes
For some reason, my feet KILL me whenever I'm wearing athletic shoes even if I'm just walking, nothing high impact. I don't have this problem with flats, boots, converse, or any other shoe. I took the instep of my sneakers out and it helped a lot, so I can now use them for working out (mostly circuit training). It's a pain…

Feeling frustrated - Plateau??
Hi ladies. I'm usually pretty positive about this whole weight loss thing, but for the past couple weeks I've been eating healthy + exercising almost every day (for reals!) and the scale hasn't gone down. In fact, it says I've gained a pound. HORROR! I know there are a lot of things I can attribute this to, such as 1) I'm…

All about ME :)
Hi! I'm Randi. I'm 26 and I live in California. I've been overweight my whole life, but it took me a long time to figure out why that is. When I was in law school I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), which causes women to secrete more male hormones and produce more insulin than a normal gal. The result is…

Hiya!
Hi new friends, I'm new here and just thought I'd say hi! I've lost about 23 lbs so far (started in preparation for a wedding) but I still feel like I have a looooooooong way to go before I hit my goal weight. I've recently upped my workouts a lot and I'm hoping that will help! Anyway, I appreciate any support I can get :)
