  • No meat at all.. I WISH I was allowed to bring kosher meat! I did black bean soup last week and it was great. Today I did roasted eggplant/hummus/feta in a whole wheat pita. I love soups - I think I'll need to make a bunch of different veggie soups and incorporate beans into them. I really appreciate all the suggestions!…
  • We do have meal delivery for the students. I've tried using it but the only meat options are sandwiches (with one slice of meat) or chicken fingers (breaded)... Or in general it's just low-quality or not filling. Good idea with the seeds- I might start incorporating some sunflower butter.
  • Interesting idea... I'll look into it.
  • Sadly I have considered eating in my car... :( not sure about leaving meat out there for 5 hours til I can eat though. Oh, and I also have only 30 minutes for lunch so I can't leave. Wahhhh!!
  • Nuts are good, as is greek yogurt. I do carrots and hummus, but I don't know if carrots/beans are too carby for you. Also consider celery + pb, veggies dipped in guacamole, sliced tomatoes and cheese, sliced turkey/salami, edamame, or a fruit smoothie made at home (mine usually have frozen berries, greek yogurt, almond…
  • Ditto! It's super yummy. I like to squirt sriracha on top, too. I find that when making just a couple servings it's easiest to make the quinoa in the microwave before frying it. It's good with mushrooms, carrots, bell pepper, snap peas, regular peas, green onions, etc. etc. Don't forget to rinse it thoroughly!
  • AMAZING! And go Giants
  • Goodness, you look wonderful! Healthy and vibrant. Congrats!
  • Woohoo! :)
  • Thanks! Right now I eat 40% protein, 30% fat, 30% carbs :)
  • True that some doctors won't put it in if you haven't had kids. My doctor was okay with putting it in even though I haven't had kids, but I imagine it's more painful because they have to literally pull open your cervix.. probably you don't have to tug at it as much if you've had kids. :) If you decide to do it, make sure…
  • I had a Mirena for about a year. Like you said, it gave me INSANE cystic acne, which I never had all through my teens or early 20s (I'm 26 now). I ended up going on accutane because I didn't realize Mirena was to blame. But once I put the pieces together and had it removed, the acne stayed gone even without accutane.…
  • Losing inches is the best nsv everrr!! My main fear comes from not being able to accurately calculate my body fat. I followed directions on the road map and used all three; I got two readings around 27% and a third at 46% :noway: I honestly have nooo idea what the truth is - 46% seems high since I'm a pretty muscular…
  • Thanks for all the advice and encouragement! I probably will start by increasing slowly, and mostly add in lean meats/vegetables/fruits.
  • Overnight oats are the boooooommbbbb! I do mine with almond milk, greek yogurt, and banana :) Mm mm mmmm.
  • Meeee too! I'm 26 (27 in June) and starting to feel panicked that if I don't do it now, I never will!
  • First of all, congratulations on being committed to your health and weight loss! It's so awesome that you're doing this for yourself. I think you're absolutely right in thinking that it's important not just for you, but also for your children. Setting an example of health is wonderful, as is showing your kids that it's…
  • You look fantastic and are so beautiful! Best of luck with continuing your journey!
  • Any BC can take awhile to adjust to, but it sounds like you know your body well enough to know that this ISN'T working! Everyone's body reacts differently, so despite your doc saying something is weight neutral, well.. your hormones are specific to you :) I honestly think the key to BC is just to keep trying different…
  • That is so wonderful! Congratulations! :)
  • I do!! I'm basically on the South Beach Diet + MFP calorie restrictions. I honestly feel healthiest when I don't eat carbs, ESPECIALLY white carbs like potatoes and rice. I sometimes mix in some whole wheat stuff and do eat fruit. It works and I have so much energy!
  • You look AWESOME! I hope you're very proud of yourself :) Your fiance is a lucky guy, and what a gorgeous dress!
  • Maybe this is crazy, but in the back of my mind I have a goal of reuniting with a certain group of people and looking AMAZING. (one of them may or may not be an ex who lives in another country) When I'm flagging during a workout I think about all the things that I want - like wearing a really small skirt in front of those…
  • Fitting into "normal" sized clothes is THE DREAM! Congratulations :)
  • Thanks everyone! It's happening again... I think my body just goes through stall phases of about a week despite drinking tons of water, doing a rest day, varying my caloric intake one day, blah blah... looks like I just have to live with it. I'm taking this weekend off from dieting (celebrating 30 pound loss + the…
  • wow.. that was really informative! And it definitely applies to my body too. I go awhile with the scale not moving at all (like, how is that possible to be the EXACT SAME NUMBER?) and then all of a sudden, a few pounds go overnight! Thanks for sharing, this made me feel a lot better :)
  • ditto to what the other ladies said! I would also say that you most likely did not put back on 3 lbs. To gain 1 lb of fat, you have to eat 3500 excess calories! I really doubt you ate 10,500 extra calories in just a couple days. So relax, breathe, some of it is probably water weight. Work out hard this week and eat clean…
  • yeah, I think so too! I'm guessing that I'm retaining water. Then again since I'm PMSing I just get mad right away and can't think rationally about it... hahaha. I think I'm going to take a break from the scale for a week and just focus on my nutrition and workouts. I get wayyy too concerned with the number it says, even…
  • Thanks for the input! I think you're right. Yesterday I took the day off from working out based on the theory that my muscles were sore and swollen, making me weigh more. I also ate a few more calories than usual. Most days I eat 1250-1300, and yesterday I did almost 1400. Small change but it helped, because today I was…
  • Honestly, when I'm super grumpy what I like to do is cuddle up in bed and watch TV or read allllll day. I know it sounds super lazy (and it is) but sometimes having some "me time" is super helpful! Also try doing little things for yourself like getting a manicure or taking a hot bath. Sometimes taking my mind off it helps…
