Run vs walk out of T2? Advice?
I'll be doing my first tri (a sprint) in 3 weeks. I have only gotten onto the bike in the last 1.5 weeks due to an arm injury (I was doing spin classes to prep for the bike while that healed). I'm a new runner since January, and the bike is...1.5 weeks new. I'm doing some bike to run transitions, and each one is getting…

tracking for my teen? best way?
I'd like to monitor my 12 year olds' calories like I do mine. He doesn't always eat the same thing I do for meals, so I can't just feed him the same plate I fix for myself. Can I have a separate account for him - and keep it open on my ipad at the same time? Any suggestions?

lateral movement
I was running on the treadmill today and experimenting with changing my form a bit. Sometimes when I run I *SHAKE* the treadmill. I'm not big enough anymore that I should be shaking it like that based on my weight. And I'm definitely not always going so fast that this should be happening. It does tend to happen more when…

Where did I put the rest of that candy bar?
I took a bite and went to do something. I came back looking for it. Did I finish it? Nothing on the counter. The wrapper is not in the garbage. Wow! This is like before...eating without thinking about it. Finally found it. I guess I took one bite and tucked it nicely back on the shelf. LOL. That's the first time I remember…

Did BPM (music) make a difference for you?
I went over to run.fm and found songs that have the appropriate BPM. Some of them would put me to sleep - or at least I would have only considered them for the cool-down. I need a hard, driving beat...one that makes me want to get up and move. And the lyrics... I'm wondering if it is worth it to put together a playlist…

Second 5K
I did my first one two monts ago and have kept training. I dropped 51 seconds off my mile time, and am at 43% for my age group. When I look at the time, it seems slow, but I guess I beat 57% of the other ladies my age. My mile time today was 11:39. I didn't feel much like going. I've had a sinus infection that went into my…

Does wearing support garments help with flabby belly skin?
I'm not a fan of tight undies, but I'm wondering if I should be. Any experience? I've got this tummy flap, and there is solid muscle underneath. I'm thinking if I wear tighter undies, it'll support the skin so that it can shrink back down. Otherwise, I guess I'm leaving it all to gravity. But the thought of something…

Over exercising/under eating?
Tell me YOUR story!!! Did you overcome this? I need to increase my calories...I think. How much? And what kind of food? I am putting this here (instead of the food forum) looking for people who also exercise a lot and have experienced these things, not just read a lot about it. I hit a plateau for a couple months, but…

Speeding Up
Apparantly I AM capable of running faster!! I thought I was a one speed person. I worked some intervals today. I ran as fast as I thought I could for 60 seconds, then walked back. It took me 3.5 minutes to get back, probably at an 18-20 mph pace. NO! I did not run that fast. I think the timer on my phone is messed…

I don't know how to stop. Overachievers, HELP!!
My body needs a break, but I don't know how to do it. I'm afraid I won't get back to where I am now with my exercise. I'm not hurt or injured yet, but I know I need a break so I don't get there. How do I do it? I will get up after 3 or 4 hours of sleep to go swimming, because I am afraid if I miss one workout, it will be…

Such low carbs....can I still perform?
I have been plateaued for a couple months with my weight loss. I have also been exercising intensely, typically 11 or 12 hours a week. I'm holding steady with my weight AND my measurements. While I'm sure I am gaining muscle from the workouts, I may also be losing some muscle due to my diet. I very recently cut back on the…

Staying motivated
My trainer told me that we always need to have goals we are working towards. I have another 5K planned two months after my first so that I can (hopefully) improve my time. Even still, yesterday I felt like " not running". I know from my other physical activities, that I have to get past the warm-up, so I pushed through and…

Did my 5K today!
Today was actually w9d2. I did not walk even one step, although now I'm wondering why I didn't go faster. Speed is my next immediate goal. I had lots of hills, which is a first for me since I've been running on relatively flat ground. I was glad I took my water bottle, because the hills combined with the cold weather...I…

Distance app?
Do you have one? I want to track how far I run...preferably one that I can start and stop to track ony running portions. I'm not very techy, so maybe this is a silly question.

Just me and the Marines
As I was walking to the track for my w4d2 run today, rain pelting my face and icy wind blowing through my clothes, I pulled a muscle in my ankle. I couldn't even step on it right, but I kept walking, thinking maybe it would work itself out by the time I needed to run. I considered that maybe I should just go home. But I…

Program was on hold due to health issue...
I had a medical issue come up and had to stop running during week 4. Today my doctor cleared me to run again and told me I need to be doing half-marathons. (He is a marathon runner.) I told him I need to finish this program first, and do a 5K!!! But that power of suggestion... I'm just so excited right now. During my time…

W3D1...and body changes!!! WooHoo!!
I've already lost 0.5" off my thighs and 1" off my waist!!! I do also swim avidly, and dance hip-hop, but these changes are since I've begun C25K. I've only lost a pound or two, but my thighs are making me SOOO much happier. I've lost a lot of weight (over 60 pounds so far), and my thighs were jiggling a lot fom flabby,…

Thighs burning! Keep on track?
Help! I did w1d1 yesterday. I got through it just fine, excited, thinking this is do-able. Today my thighs are burning. Will I be OK for day 2 tomorrow? I was going to walk the stairs at work today, but maybe not now, especially if it will mean I'll have recovered better for the C25k workout tomorrow.
-
C25K - can I also walk stairs???
Can I walk the stairs on my off days? Or is that not allowing my body to recover?

Want to start running...worried about pain from jiggles
Any advice? Just do it anyway? Will I injure myself?
