"Exercise" - What do you count?
I am one of those that literally vegetate once I get home from work. Mind you, I work at a desk for 9 hours a day so it's not like I have a heavy duty job. I have children who clean the house regularly so when I get home I don't have anything that NEEDS done except to make myself dinner they've eaten by the time I get…

New Here and a little concerned
I am not real good at math lol. MFP gives me 1198 for my BMR but every other website I've checked has given me about 1320. I'm only 5' and not looking for a huge deficit, however 1198 x the sedentary 1.2 (?) = 1437. This gives me LESS than 250 deficit to work with and I'm always hungry as it is...especially lately.…

Favorite Sub-Genre?
We all know we love Paranormal/Fantasy books. But what's your favorite type/sub-genre? Urban Fantasy? Romance? Epic? Mystery? My favorite will always be Urban Fantasy (Harry Dresden is amazing). However, I tend to get into Romance when the "mood" strikes  (who doesn't love those Dark Hunters???) . I've never been a…

Old Pants
I was doing laundry today and, at the bottom of a basket full of clothes that are eventually going to Goodwill, I found a pair of my size 18 jeans. Pretty sure they'd been sitting in that basket for about a year. I last wore them around the time I started on MFP. Anyway, I was holding them up against me, in complete awe. I…

NSV - Healthy BMI
I've done it! Last Friday I officially hit my healthy BMI. I haven't been "healthy" in over 12 years. Now it's time to focus on toning and learning how to enjoy working out (over a year at this, you'd figure I'd have learned something by now). I'm giving myself about a 1-2 week "break" from logging. I'm going to still…

My NSV - Wow!
I was chatting with a co-worker who was asking me about my weight loss so far. A few years back she went through the same thing, lost a lot of weight and has been able to keep it off. She asked what size I was in. That day I happened to be wearing 11 in juniors, so approximately a 10 in womens (right?). Anyway, I told her…

Memorial Day Pics (before and almost done)
I was looking through my pictures from last Memorial day at a family reunion. I found the picture below and thought "OMG, look how large." I figured I'd take a picture today to see them side by side. :) I'm now down about 54.4 lbs and hope to lose another 8-10lbs and tone everything up to look good in a bathing suit!! Me…

I ran! .... In public!
Just an FYI - I'm not a runner. I have never liked to run. When you are over 195 lbs (at 5 ft short) body parts tend to actually hurt when you run. The jiggling caused me pain and was just too uncomfortable so I refused to do it. Never mind the fact that I was too lazy as well. Anyway, I decided to take a walk this…

So close I can taste it...
The have lost a total of 40.4 lbs so far. I started this in August of last year...right before my 32nd birthday. I weighed in at 191 when I found this website. My highest weight was 206...at least that's the last time I stepped on the scale. I am now at a weight I haven't seen in over 12 years...3 kids ago. I am now so…

How do you log Kinect games w/out an HRM?
I play Kinect Sports almost every day. I work up a good sweat, heavy breathing, the whole nine yards. When I log it into MFP, I enter it as High Impact Aerobics and adjust the time to a little under what I actually did (to make up for the down time between games). I haven't purchased an HRM yet (hopefully soon) and I feel…

Hello from Ohio
I am very new here...only about a week and a half. About 4 years ago I was a stay at home mom, and I happened to lose about 35 lbs with hard work and determination. I lost that determination once I went back to work 3 years ago. I gained it all back and then some. I decided very recently to really try again. I have 3 great…
