Favorite guilt free drink
Totally addicted to Polar flavored seltzers lately. Like sodas without the sugar, and I really don't miss it.

Is anyone on Strava or Garmin Connect?
I use both and really love the inspiration and motivation of seeing other people's workouts and races. I'd like to connect with anyone who's out there.

Gave up beer for April...
I also started tracking cals religiously around the same time. Down 12 lbs so far. Decided to give up all alcohol for the last ten days, just to make it even more challenging. I tell you what, I have been craving a beer so bad, I'm ready to run over grandma to get one. I have a marathon on May 4th, so keeping my eyes on…

KIND Healthy Grains Granola. I finally found a healthy granola that is not loaded with sugar. Many have 15 grams or more. KIND has only 6. It is also whole grain, low sodium, no trans fats, low saturated fat and 3g fiber per serving. Oh yeah, and it is crunchy and delicious! Also Gluten Free!

Kicked off the first day of Spring with a cortisone shot...
That should take care of the plantar fasciitis... I hope. Then I just have to manage the post-tib tendonitis. 27 days to Boston Marathon. Anyone have experience with cortisone shot in the heel? Doc says there is a short term steroid that lasts about a week and then a longer term much stronger steroid that kicks in about 4…

Quorn/Morningstar and others...
I love the Quorn CHik'n patties, and trust me, I am a carnivore who loves pulled pork and giant real burgers, etc. But those patties are really good and taste a lot like chicken to me. But I would like to get some more of these vegan taste-alike items in my cart. Does anyone recommend any other vegan foods that taste very…

Heavy Lifting vs ??
Can someone who actually knows what they're talking about (i.e. personal trainer or someone who has actually done heavy lifting and seen results) please explain briefly the difference between that and regular lifting and explain why it is preferable? MFP seems to be chock full of success stories. How does it work? How to…

Big Food Disappointment
Found out that New Hope Mills Buckwheat pancakes, which are super delicious, and which I thought were relatively healthy (at least as pancakes go) are actually loaded with sodium. 720 mg in a serving. Yikes!

Missed my workout yesterday.
Missed my window to get to gym because of PT last night but had a good PT session anyway. No biggie, beautiful out today so will try for a short run and some lifting this afternoon and an hour on the bike tonight. Tanita scale said 9.5% BF this morning. Can't be true...but I like that it's dropping!

Back on the horse
OK, slight detour with happy hour and then a few beers with the boys last night, but it's all in the diary...full accountability, and now back to keeping it clean. Get after it!

Looking to drop 15+
Hello, I'm an avid runner rehabbing from an injury. Looking to drop some weight before Boston Marathon in April. Started tracking cals and workouts about a week ago and looking for motivation to stay on track. I've got the workout thing down, usually at least 6 hours a week, it's the cals and hydration I need to be more…

Water as percentage of weight
What percentage of weight should be water? Before I started ensuring that I was getting enough water, my Tanita scale frequently read about 53%. This morning it was 58% and 11% BF. I assume that is good, but no idea what normal is.

Trimming down for Boston Marathon
I always seem to stay at the same weight, around 205, despite at times putting in very high miles training for races and marathons. My body fat percentage is pretty good, around 11.5%, but would like to lose weight to race faster and reduce risk of injury. Starting at 210, up a few since I've been dealing with plantar…
