Can standing up a few hours in a row burn calories? (housebound for a few weeks)
Hi! Currently housebound due to medical reasons. Staying at home is driving me nuts and one of my concerns is gaining weight as I had to cut out jogging. While I'm housebound I want to avoid staying the whole day seated/laying down. To keep busy, I'm doing DIY projects (mainly sowing) so I do this standing up in front of…

Lowering calories to offset yesterday's binge?
Yesterday I ate 2500 calories worth of blueberry tart, ice cream and chocolate (on top of 1000 calories of protein & veggies). My last binge was about a month ago (PMS related cravings) but otherwise I'm on 1200-1400 calories per day (mainly low carb/protein+veggies+dairy). Would eating 500 calories the next 2 days offset…

Four days ago i got my first ever surgery: removal of a lipoma (size of a golf ball) from the back of my thigh. Since then I'm just not hungry at all. I'm wondering if it has to do with the pain killers. Im only eating 500-600 calories a day, is this temporary ?

2 months sick (flu-like) and Undereating = messing up metabolism?
Short version is that I finally quit smoking (cheers! ) 2 months ago. When I quit I decided I wanted to go back to being healthy and was afraid of gaining some weight: registered right away to the gym and went back to eating right (1,300-1,500 calories daily). However in Month 2: I started to get some nasty…

Messed up weight stats: New scale underweighing by 3kg
Hi... I've been studying for 5 months abroad. One of the first things I did there was buy a scale to monitor my weight loss. However, now that I'm back in my home country, and using my regular scale again, I was shocked to find that the scale I was using abroad was underweighing me by 3kg (I did a test with another scale…

Gaining some weight. Feeling sabotaged by family
Hi everyone... I need to vent as I have just come back from a week of travelling with my relatives. To my horror, I stepped on the scale and gained almost 5lbs in just a week of not following my regular eating/exercise habits. Basically I have been travelling with relatives and in the circumstances, we were eating out for…

I'm eating way less but still feel energetic. Is it healthy?
hi everyone! Background: My current bmi is of about 21 (5'3" for about 118lbs) after starting at a bmi of almost 29 over half a year ago. Calorie counting (1200-1400 daily) and exercising helped achieving this. However, i'm noticing that since I'm under a bmi of 21.5, my apetite has diminished and so I'm eating between…

Not used to my new body yet... Still feel awkward
Hi everyone. Right now, I kind of feel lost and upset with my “new” body. I’ve read some posts about the difficulties of the mental aspect catching up with the physical aspect of weigh loss, which helps to understand this process, but I really need to vent. 6 months ago, I started to turn my life around (going from a BMI…
