Recovering from Surgery: not hungry?

Four days ago i got my first ever surgery: removal of a lipoma (size of a golf ball) from the back of my thigh.
Since then I'm just not hungry at all. I'm wondering if it has to do with the pain killers. Im only eating 500-600 calories a day, is this temporary ?

Opiate pain medications definitely have an appetite suppressant effect. They tend to make me feel sick on my stomach. If you're concerned about not getting the nutrients you need you may be able to get calories through liquids. But yes, to answer your question, this should be temporary and your appetite will come back when you stop taking the pain meds.0
