Losing holiday weight quick? (bread and chocolates)

Love and hate the Christmas season... came back to my home country looking thin/fit and happy with my progress... and now its been almost a week of around 2,000 calories daily (I try to keep it between 1,300-1,600 in my everyday life) I think i gained 10lbs... feel so heavy and puffy and bloated... I just can't resist that chocolate and the delicious fresh bread I can only find at home (these are pretty much where my excess calories come from)... 2 food types I almost never have...

I'm guessing that most of it is water weight so not too panicky.. Anyways the Christmas feasts are over now ... There are no more excuses for chocolates and overindulging!

My question here is if I maybe fast for 1 or 2 days and then go back to eating 1,300 calories while doing a bit of jogging (like 30mins 2 to 3 times a week) is if I should see the weight fall off in no time. or how many days it usually takes for the water weight to drop?

Thanks and merry christmas and healthy treats to all!

There is no "quick fix". Go back to eating your normal everyday calories and don't look back. This is a lifestyle change and you will have moments like that throughout your life. You can't beat yourself up over food.

Well...considering that 7lbs of that 10 can be due to normal body fluctuations, that really leaves only 3lbs unaccounted for. Then considering you feel bloated and stuff, and have been eating normal holiday goodies and lacking on the hydration, that probably means you are slightly constipated, and need a good poop....which can actually account for the left over three.

So....my suggestion. Get through the holidays and then go back to normal, with eyes on fiber and hydration and you should be back to normal in a week or two...with no need to fast.

think of it this way there is 3500 calories in one pound of fat, so to gain 10 pounds you would of had to have over eaten by 35,000 calories, which more than likely did not happen. It is more than likely 85% weight gain and maybe - big maybe - 15% fat/weight gain…

drink water and try to flush all the water weight out of you …

I would say just go back to eating at your regular level and working out and you will be fine…

If you keep fresh bread and chocolate in your everyday diet, you would not overdo as much on special occasions.
As long as you fit it into your normal day-you won't gain-you'll keep on losing.

Just clean up your diet and WORK it off. Not eating at all is just gonna eff up your metabolism. No quick fixes and next time no excuses to begin with. Make room in your diet for "cheats".

This has happened to me more than a few times. For me, as long as I get back to drinking fluids, working out and eating "normally," then I can drop the fluff within a few days. The biggest drop being the day after getting back on track. Just today, I weighed in at 175 or so due to so much crap from last night. I know tomorrow I'll be at about 173 or so...then it'll taper off more over next few days. Just get back to your normal program. Happy Holidays!!

lol I always laugh when people say they think they gained 10 pounds from overeating like 500 calories for a week. You'll be fine, just get back to how you were eating before

    agreed.

Thanks guys :) ! I'm trying not to obsess (but I'm pretty sure I did eat over 2000 calories too much this week) like im sure quite a few of us are too and yeah this is definitely all about lifestyle habits and quick fixes just dont work on the long run.

I'll try to incorporate a bit of carbs in my eating patterns (which I guess explains the bread-pasta binges i have at times) and then def keep that water bottle near by! Today is day 1 of eating clean.... a big box of chocolates for the family is currently opened on the dining table and... i grabbed an apple instead!

    Cheers to all!
