Accurate Scales?
I am sick & tired of my digital scales going up/down/up/down for no apparent reason., all within the same weigh-in. I have taken the battery out and put it back in immediately and it shows a completely different weight. Can anyone recommend a good analog scale that doesn't cost an arm-and-a-leg?

Heart Rate Monitors
There are probably several threads on MFP regarding heart rate monitors, but I am thinking of purchasing one and I am wondering if there are different types of monitors and about how much money one would cost. Anyone?

Cream Cheese Spread
I always buy non-fat cream cheese and wanted a "seasonal" pumpkin flavor so I added some pumpkin pie spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger & cloves) and some artificial sweetener to the non-fat cream cheese. I'm refrigerating it for awhile so the flavors can "marry" and I'm sure it will taste yummy on my morning toast, muffin.…

I question the nutritional count accuracy
I understand there is no way to "clean up" the accuracy of the nutritional count of foods in the data base, with the exception of editing a food if we know it is incorrect when we pull it up to add to our daily food intake. I find it a little disconcerting to find very different nutritional contents for identical foods…

I am so confused!! carbs vs. calories
I'm really getting discouraged. I've been trying to stick to a low carb program and have purchased pretty much foods that are not fat free, since they are typically higher in carbs. Today's food diary indicates I have a substantial deficit in carbs yet my calories are not at my 1200 goal. I'm having a real hard time…

Keeping Carb Count Down is Difficult
I have my goals set at 50% protein, 30% carbs and 20% fats and I'm having a real hard time keeping my carbs down to 30%. Does this seem like an unreasonable goal for a moderate weight loss?

Carb Counting Question
I just revised my goals to count carbs based on a 1200 calorie per day diet and here is what I don't understand - maybe I'm just being dense. I reset my goals to 30% carbs (90g/day), 50% protein (150g/day) and 20% fat (27g/day). My question is - carbs are 30% of WHAT?? Protein is 50% of WHAT?? Fat is 20% of What?? Is it…

Thinking about a low carb diet-any suggestions?
My doctor recently suggested that I go on the Mediterranean diet. In researching it online I find it to be terribly restrictive so I'm not sure I will start it. I am thinking, however, of starting a diabetic diet (low carb) although I'm not diabetic - but possibly pre-diabetic. I've done quite a bit of online research on…

Starting low carb diet-any suggestions?
My doctor recently suggested that I start the Mediterranean diet but since it is so restrictive, I'm not so sure I will do it. I've been comparing diets and I think I'm going to try a low carb (diabetic) diet. I love vegetables and I think this would be a fairly easy program to follow. Any suggestions out there?

WW Points?
I did Weight Watchers and was successful at first but that tapered off after a couple weeks. i understand the points are calculated according to the nutrients but does anyone know how "points" compare to calories?
