Keeping Carb Count Down is Difficult

I have my goals set at 50% protein, 30% carbs and 20% fats and I'm having a real hard time keeping my carbs down to 30%. Does this seem like an unreasonable goal for a moderate weight loss?

No, that's not unreasonable at all. I generally shoot for 40% protein, 20% carbs and 40% fat on a daily and am losing just fine.

I've been tracking my macros for the past 3 months in a fair amount of detail, and on average, including cheat days I've been coming out around 46% protein 21% carbs and 33% fat.

If you avoid the processed stuff and grains/legumes it gets easier.

    I aim for 15% carbs a day.

I stick to meat, eggs, fish, cheese and veggies (mostly leafy). Some fruit here and there, mostly berries.

Everyone is different when it comes to carb tolerance, 30% might be OK for you. It might be OK for me now for maintenance. It depends on what kind of metabolic shape you are in. I can't see me going back to a grain-based diet so I'll probably always be on the low side. Progress is good, I have great energy, there's not much point in changing much.

I took the view that I was such a carb monster before (bread, pasta, sauces with sugar, processed junk, etc) that I had to cut way back and introduce some better carb choices (i.e. veggies, some fruit) back in gradually.
